Superior Deluxe chalet

The Superior Deluxe chalets at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel are whitewashed stone cottages, with lovely sea views – very much like the Superior chalets. They are the closest to the sea and the white beach is literally a stones-throw away. The rooms are light and breezy with cool tiled floors, a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a writing desk and an incredibly large Zanzibari bed.

All of the Superior Deluxe chalets have electronic safes, air-conditioning and fans, as well a mini-bar, CD player (you can request to borrow CDs from reception) and 3-pin plug sockets. The rooms have everything you would expect from a hotel - they are very comfortable. However we found, that the rooms felt a little bland and lacked slightly in atmosphere – a shame considering Ras Nungwi is on an island with such a rich and varied culture.

Also the rooms are quite close to main beach areas, which are relatively small – and during the day can get quite busy. It also means that the rooms are not as private as you might find at a quieter beach retreat.

The bathrooms in the Superior Deluxe chalets at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel all have an en-suite flush toilet and hot-and-cold showers – with plenty of hot water. They're clean and well-kept, but rather dated and a little cramped in comparison to the bedrooms.

Ras Nungwi do have plans to update the bathrooms over the next few years – which will hopefully improve them substantially.
