"Great hotel in centre of Stone Town"
The staff were really helpful and informative and made the end of our trip as good as the rest despite the difficulties of the loss of power to the island.

The downside was the meal. Although the restaurant is well rated our dinner was not good. We had a seafood tray (the most expensive oten on the menu) and most of it was so overcooked as to be unedible. Don't know if this is a routine problem or if the kitchen just had a bad day." We were unlucky in that while we were there the hotel had a leak in their water system, and had to turn the water off most of the time, which did nothing to help with one's comfort level.
