Walk along the beautiful sandy beaches at Mbweni Ruins Hotel.
Standard Suite
All of the rooms at Mbweni are situated in a long two-storey building and are of a decent size. They have a clean en-suite bathroom and a small private balcony with a table and a few chairs. Each has air-conditioning and is furnished with lovely Zanzibar canopy beds, two lounge chairs and a small Zanzibari table. The rooms have white-washed walls and tiled floors, though when we were last there (Feb 2007) they were starting to look a bit tired and dated. They were perfectly comfortable, but we felt that with a bit of a face-lift they would be a lot better!
The bathrooms of the standard suites were very clean and functional. Each had a hot-and-cold shower, a single sink with a large mirror above it, and a toilet. Like the rooms, the bathrooms could be improved a lot with some redecorating.

We have always believed that acting responsibly is the only way to approach tourism and we're one of
the few companies to hold AITO's original coveted 5-star status for responsible tourism. It's a lead
that others are now following.
