Elephant's Eye opened in mid-2013, and so is one of the newer lodges to have sprung up on the edges of Hwange National Park. It’s full name is more properly written as “Elephant’s Eye, Hwange" – which is quite curious, not only for its punctuation but also because the lodge is located 13km outside of Hwange National Park.
Our view of Elephant's Eye
Elephant's Eye is fairly new and nobody from Expert Africa has visited it yet. The camp is situated outside of the park, on its own private concession. It’s very convenient for the park’s main airport, but although it is in a game area, the half-hour drives needed to get to and from the camp will either make activities longer and/or slightly less productive than those from a camp within the national park. We hope to visit Elephant's Eye for ourselves this year; until then please call for further information.
Hwange is an excellent big game area, well-known for its very healthy elephant population
