Zambezi Life Styles: Our full report
Zambezi Life Styles is a semi-permanent camp set up on the banks of the Zambezi River. No one from Expert Africa has yet visited this relatively new addition to the Mana Pools safari scene, but we've known the owner and operator for years, so are optimistic it'll match the same very high standards set by its sister camps, Khwai Tented Camp and Saile Tented Camp in Botswana.
We'll be paying the camp a visit in the not-too-distant future but until then we've gathered up the following information…
Zambezi Life Styles offers simple luxury in a fantastic setting. The camp itself is reminiscent of colonial safari camps from a bygone era and it allows guests a mobile experience in a stationary setting. The camp is only set up for the duration of the Mana Pools safari season (May – November) after which it's broken down and reassembled again the following year.
Life Styles contains just 6 twin bedded tents each with an en-suite bathroom where facilities include a flush toilet and an outdoor bucket shower. All of the tents are decorated in a classic safari style with some campaign furniture adding to the ambience.
There is a communal main tent where meals are taken and where guests can relax during the day. Al fresco dining is often set up on the banks of the Zambezi.
The real attraction to this area however is of course the stunning surroundings and the top-quality guiding. Zimbabwean qualified 'Zim-Pro' guides are some of the finest in Africa and Life Styles makes full use of them. Activities include canoeing and walking safaris as well as 4WD game-drives from camp. Fishing can also be organised from the banks of the river or from an island in the middle of it.
Our view
We are big fans of Zambezi Life Styles' sister camps, which we've known for a long time. We're therefore expecting comfortable, classic accommodation, a fantastic setting and some top-quality guiding, hand-in-hand with great game-viewing. There's a minimum stay of three-nights for two people so ask us for more details on departure times and availability and we'll be happy to help.
