Starts: Victoria Falls Airport
Victoria Falls to Camp Hwange by road
An air-conditioned vehicle will transfer you from the airport to meet your safari guide at Hwange National Park's Mbala Gate. Then it’s a 4WD safari to Camp Hwange, across rocky granite hills. It’ll take around four hours total, depending on how long you stop to watch wildlife on the way.

In the north-west of Hwange National Park, where the Kalahari's flat plains start to transition into rugged hills, you’ll find Camp Hwange. The camp combines a distinct "bush" feel with an emphasis on the safari experience and top guiding.

Game drive to Hwange Bush Camp
Today, you'll set off with your luggage on a morning game drive and head in the general direction of Hwange Bush Camp. When you stop for tea or coffee, you'll switch to a vehicle from Bush Camp before finishing the drive, arriving in time for lunch and a siesta.
Hwange Bush Camp
The successor to Hwange Mobile Camp, the semi-permanent Hwange Bush Camp, is tucked away in the remote northern region of Hwange National Park. It’s a more rugged environment than the Kalahari sandveld that dominates the rest of the park, with some great wildlife, and the hilly terrain makes for interesting walking safaris led by top Zimbabwean professional guides.

Hwange Bush Camp is a relatively simple, rustic camp focused on delivering a fantastic safari experience. This style won't suit everyone, and if luxury is more of a priority for you then it may be worth looking at some alternative camps. However, if you are after top guiding in a truly isolated location of Hwange National Park, and don’t mind forgoing a few luxuries, then Hwange Bush Camp would be a great choice. Hwange to Victoria Falls Airport by road
If your flight time allows, you may be able to take a game drive en route to Hwange's Mbala Gate, where you'll meet an air-conditioned vehicle for the drive to the airport. The whole transfer takes at least four hours; longer if you stop to watch wildlife along the way.
