Perfect stay at Little Kwara
We had a great guide, Dutch, who knew a lot about the area and was very enthusiastic about the wildlife.
The camp itself was perfect. More simplistic in style compared to Lagoon or Lebala, but this seems more fitting in the bush.
Great guiding at Little Kwara
This is where we saw the most game.
Little Kwara (Kwando) has a policy of providing a tracker (who sits on the front of vehicle)and a guide and all the guides work together if they spot something. Our guide (Duke) was very knowledgeable though driving was a bit bumpy.
Last Chance for Sighting
This place was fun and turned out to be great for seeing the largest variety of animals. Our guide, Dutch, and tracker, Mike, found everything we hadn't seen yet as well as the things we had. Their childhood experiences served them well in tracking and delighted us with the information. Dutch has great potential to accomplish more in his career and would benefit from someone mentoring him. T.J., a guide, and Anderson, a food server (?) could also go a long way with the proper guidance.
Little Kwara was a delightful place to end our journey to Botswana. The dancing and acapello singing on our last night was fun.
Little Kwara review
Our guide, T.J., was amazing and taught us so much.
Everything was excellent except that morning coffee was not ready on time, and held us up from early morning safari departure.
Fantastic Little Kwara
We spent 5 nights in this remarkable lodge. Definitely memories for a lifetime! Wildlife watching / photography has truly been a dream there! The lodge itself dwells into a very laid-back atmosphere which is a different experience than what you can get in other places where 5 stars service is the general approach. Not saying it is not good, just that it is different.
The lunch and dinner are taken with everybody on the same big table. We didn't mind but sometimes you feel like you need to do some "small talk" and if you are in a honeymoon this is something you might possibly not like. The room was nice but little cold in the early morning as was the outside shower (plenty of hot water but a bit cold when you leave it at night for instance).
The real incredible value of this lodge is at the end its huge concession and the incredible tracker/guide we got. We were with Hobbs the guide and Kenneth as tracker. Kenny is a very good tracker but Hobbs is a totally awesome guide (one of the best we've ever been with) with a lot of experience, great knowledge and passion about wildlife and someone being very patient and also with a lot of empathy for his customers. We got along very well with them and saw a lot (cheetahs, lions, leopards, wild dogs..). A quick word on safari vehicles: very comfortable with a lot of room for legs and gears (contrary to bigger Kwara, vehicles have only 2 rows instead of 3 which is very good idea).
Finally, Mokoro and boat trips were splendid as well.
We wish we could come-back very soon to Little Kwara.
Lovely Little Kwara
This was another excellent camp with great staff led by Leso and Hilda who were all friendly, welcoming and made our stay memorable.Good food ,comfy beds and well appointed tents. Our guide Hobs and tracker Kenny were great and very knowledgeable. On our first evening drive we tracked and were very close to a pack of 9 wild dogs and followed them until nightfall. Also saw Spotted Hyena and two male Lions walking along the road near to the camp .
The following morning we tracked a pride of Lions after finding their kill [2 Zebras].We also tracked two different Cheetah groups and saw them killing an Impala. We had a lazy motorboat trip on the Delta one evening with a glorious sunset and a Mokoro trip early one morning near to a few not too inquisitive Hippos. There is a great emphasis at all Kwando camps on guest safety so we always felt secure and in safe hands.
We liked the fact that at all of the camps the emphasis was on tracking and seeing the animals and we also liked Kwandos emphasis on Staff Training and personal development .Once again we had an evening of traditional food preceeded by wonderful singing and then all guests joined in with the dancing with varying degrees of success!!
So much wildlife at Little Kwara
Little Kwara was definitely our favourite camp in terms of wildlife sightings - we saw loads of lions, elephants, a crocodile, a porcupine, giraffes and much more. Our guide, Dutch, and tracker, Mike, were the best of our trip - and went out of their way to find wildlife for us - we had several rather exciting rides!
The camp itself is a bit less luxurious than some of the others, but absolutely fine (although an indoor shower would be good!)

This was a quaint camp and very personal. Our guide Dutch was so informative, absolutely FABULOUS. We learned a lot from his knowledge and skills. I loved talking with the staff and learning about their life and culture. We met some wonderful people. Our tent and location were perfect. Saw the most wonderful game. Loved the Delta. This camp had the BEST game and varied in the landscapes that we saw. Great time! THIS WAS MY DAUGHTERS FAVORITE EXPERIENCE! She didn't want to leave...
The staff were so very kind and caring! Lizzie the manager was wonderful!

Guide was Dutch Kisale-very knowledgeable, knows animals and especially birds well- a photographer himself so knows how to position vehicle for best photos. Wife ran out of flash for camera, Dutch downloaded pics onto flash drive of his so she could finish the trip and we mailed his back to him-saved the trip! Thanks Dutch! Loved the camp, tents were delightful , food terrific and people as at Tau Pan were incredibly nice. Lots of great game viewing!Read more about the whole safari
