Drotsky’s Cabins is one of the oldest camps in northern Botswana. Situated on the Okavango Delta’s ‘pan-handle’ just under 10km away from the town of Shakawe it isn’t the first place we’d suggest for a wildlife safari. The big game and the isolation that one can find deeper into the Delta are less evident here. For keen birders and fishermen however, Drotsky’s is a good option and well worth considering as part of an itinerary.
Our view of Drotsky's Cabins
Drotsky’s is a well-established camp with a distinct focus on fishing and birding. As a result it won’t be to everyone’s taste but for those with a keen interest outside of just big game this is a clean, comfortable camp offering something different. From August to around October this camp makes for an excellent base for fishermen and birders alike who are interested in seeing the famous ‘Barbel Run’.
Drotsky's Cabins is a comfortable lodge situated on the banks of the Okavango.
