Harrier Hawk Fly-in Safari

Harrier Hawk Safari: In full

This intense wildlife-watching trip to one of Africa’s greatest ecosystems focuses on exploring the Olare Motorogi Conservancy of the Maasai Mara. Noted for being excellent lion country, this area consistently delivers stunning wildlife sightings without the crowds of other visitors which can affect your experience in other parts of the region.

To have a good chance of experiencing the great migration in the Maasai Mara, a good time to take this trip would be between late July and the beginning of October when vast herds of migratory wildebeest roam the plains seeking pasture.

After a safari, many travellers opt for a stay on the Indian Ocean coast. You can easily add one of our beach add-on trips to the Kenya coast to your itinerary.

Days 1-4

4 nights at Kicheche Bush Camp (full board & activities) | Maasai Mara Conservancies, Kenya

Kicheche Bush Camp has a superb, central location on the fringes of the reserve.Your flight to the Maasai Mara in a light plane from Nairobi's small Wilson Airport leaves mid-morning and takes about an hour. You land at Olare Orok airtstrip in the heart of the conservancy and are met by a Kicheche driver/guide who will take you back to camp, stopping to watch wildlife en route. For the next four days, you'll explore this beautiful, wildife-rich corner of the Mara eco-system, mixing game drives in the quiet Olare Motorogi Conservancy with the occasional foray - especially during the migration season - into the much busier Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Day 5

After a final early game drive you'll fly back to Nairobi, departing around 10:15am, arriving around midday. From here, you can connect to a flight to the coast if you want to continue your holiday on the beach.
