Spend 15 days in Namibia on this classic fly and drive itinerary, it begins with a fly-in to the Namib Desert followed by one of the most scenic flight routes across to Swakopmund on the Atlantic Coast. Here you pick up your hire vehicle and go on to explore Namibia's northern highlights on a self-drive. Marvel at amazing desert scenery of the NamibRand Nature Reserve and Sossusvlei, enjoy the coastal charm of Swakopmund, discover the beauty and varied attractions of Damaraland, become captivated by wildlife in Etosha National Park and wander through striking rock formations amid the Erongo Mountains.


Day 1

1 night at Olive Grove (bed & breakfast) | Windhoek, Namibia

Olive Grove is a stylish guest house in Windhoek's suburb of Eros.On arrival at Windhoek Airport you will be met and transferred by road to Windhoek city. Spend the afternoon wandering around the capitals shops, cafés and craft stalls, or simply relax and recuperate after your journey. Sample some local cuisine at one of Windhoek's many restaurants or stay in to enjoy a tasty dinner on the dining terrace at Olive Grove.

Days 2-3

2 nights at Wolwedans Dune Camp (full board & activities) | NamibRand Nature Reserve, Namibia

Wolwedans Dune Camp is located amongst the dunes...Begin with a short road transfer to Eros Airport and take a scenic light aircraft flight over Namibia's great escarpment to reach the NamibRand Nature Reserve. This is one of Africa's largest private sanctuaries, which encompasses a great variety of breathtaking desert landscapes. Explore the sprawling vistas, orange sand dunes and vegetated inter-dune valleys with your expert local guide for a memorable introduction to the Namib Desert whilst staying at the inviting Wolwedans Dune Camp.

Days 4-5

2 nights at Kulala Desert Lodge (full board & activities) | Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia

Welcome to Kulala Desert Lodge...It's about an hours' road transfer north to the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Based here for two nights you will be treated to guided 4WD excursions and walks within the private reserve and into the Namib-Naukluft Park to see the majestic dunes at Sossusvlei and intriguing tree skeletons at Dead Vlei. Your accommodation is at the beautifully located Kulala Desert Lodge.

Days 6-7

2 nights at Cornerstone Guesthouse (bed & breakfast) | Swakopmund & Walvis Bay, Namibia

The Cornerstone Guesthouse is situated in Swakopmund near the town-centre…A stunning light aircraft flight over the Namib Desert and along the Skeleton Coast takes you to the seaside town of Swakopmund. Here you'll pick up your hire car and explore this quaint historic town and its surrounding coastal desert. There are many adventure activities on offer including boat cruises, kayaking, 4WD excursions, sand-boarding and sky diving. You can also stroll around galleries, museums, shops, café's, restaurants, the craft market and pleasant waterfront from the centrally located Cornerstone Guesthouse.

Days 8-9

2 nights at Doro Nawas (half board) | Damaraland, Namibia

The main building at Doro Nawas is striking in appearance and perched on top of a small hill...Set off on your self-drive adventure with a fascinating journey up the stark Skeleton Coast and inland through dramatic mountain scenery to Damaraland. A two night stay here allows plenty of time to visit local attractions in your hire car, such as the rock art at Twyfelfontein and the geological formations of Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes. You may also like to join an optional 4WD guided excursion for a chance to see desert-adapted elephant, offered by your friendly hosts at Doro Nawas.

Days 10-11

2 nights at Dolomite Camp (bed & breakfast) | Etosha National Park, Namibia

Dolomite Camp...Drive north-east today to the extensive Etosha National Park, Namibia’s premier game reserve. It’s a great park for exploring in your hire car, along a network of sandy roads dotted with waterholes that draw wildlife in to drink. You’ll enter through the western Galton Gate and spend two nights within the previously restricted area of Western Etosha. This is where your first real wildlife experience begins – enjoy exploring this side of the Park on game drives or at the camp’s waterhole at Dolomite Camp.

Day 12

1 night at Halali Camp (bed & breakfast) | Etosha National Park, Namibia

Halali Camp is a good central base from where to explore Etosha National Park.Spend the full day seeking out and photographing game sightings as you drive eastwards across Etosha National Park to your next base near the edge of the famous Etosha Pan. Explore more of the park during your one night stop here or pass your evening watching nocturnal action at the floodlit waterhole near your comfortable accommodation at Halali Camp.

Days 13-14

2 nights at Erongo Wilderness Lodge (half board) | Central Highlands, Namibia

Erongo Wilderness Lodge sits amongst huge granite whalebacks and boulders in the Erongo Mountains.Exit Etosha and drive south through Namibia's Central Highlands to the imposing Erongo Mountains. You stay two nights on the outer slopes of this great massif, nestled amongst giant granite boulders in a stunning wilderness setting. Morning and afternoon guided walks are a wonderfully intimate way to experience the diverse flora and fauna found here – including a number of endemic species. There are also self-guided walking trails and an optional nature drive to see a small collection of rock paintings at the nearby Paula's Cave. In between activities, chill out by the pool or on your balcony and soak up the views from Erongo Wilderness Lodge.

Day 15

Give yourself plenty of time for the return drive to Windhoek Airport today, perhaps stopping in Okahandja or Windhoek to purchase any last minute crafts along the way. Drop off you hire car at the airport and continue under own arrangements.
