"Beho Beho review"

3 nights Arrived 13 Jul 2010
"Amazing place - what more can one say? Very very special in every way. The rooms are superb. And the staff, management and guides are excellent.

The children (20, 19 and 17) loved this place although (and this is only a very small gripe and should not deflect from all our praise)they would have appreciated something a little more substantial to eat before the early drive - just a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit did not satisfy our boys. Our 6'5" eldest son found this hard, and the breakfast in the bush was not the best - just a roll and some fruit. The first real meal of the day is lunch - or brunch on the day one visits the hot springs. The brunch out in the bush is exceptional and very special.

And the food otherwise was superb and in wonderful locations. Andrew's wheat allergy was catered for once Tamlyn arrived back in camp - she was not there when we arrived. But this was not a big deal as there was plenty of food to choose from and we did not make a fuss about it to anyone - I am sure it would have been rectified had we done so, such is the special service here.

We would definitely recommend this place to others and we very much hope to return one day." See all these reviews: 5n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar

"Beho Beho lives up to its reputation"

4 nights Arrived 10 Sep 2009
"We had great expectations of Beho Beho and these were fully met. The Selous combined perfectly with Ruaha, providing different and contrasting scenery and excellent game viewing, while maintaining the feeling of complete isolation. For example we had long game drives to Lakes Tagalala and Manze without seeing another vehicle all day.

While the location of other camps on the Rujifi river in the Selous may have some advantages, particularly in the dry season, the location and views from Beho Beho are stunning and the easy access to the lakes allows tremendous game viewing as the animals move in to drink and the predators follow - we saw 4 separate lion prides. The guiding (Salum and Sean) was top class and evening walks from the camp with Sacha were a particular highlight for us and led to close encounters with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, etc.

The bandas are exceptional and the food and variety of dinner and lunch locations was excellent allowing continual game viewing in the valley below and at the local waterhole where we were lucky enough to see a leopard during dinner. The atmosphere in the camp was excellent and Tam and Sacha's easy manner made us feel very welcome. Beho Beho is luxury in the bush and for us combined very well with the more earthy Mwagusi in the Ruaha." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 6n in Zanzibar

"There are special places in the world and this is a very special place with very special people. The variety of game viewing is outstanding but it is the people that make this an exceptional place. Sasha and Tam are a couple made in heaven who spread their happiness to every corner of the camp.

The game viewing is splendid, the walking fantastic and the visit to the lake stunning, add to this some of the best food in Africa and you start to understand why it really is a must visit place" See all these reviews: 14n in Tanzania

"If there ever was a "once"... this would be it. A once in a lifetime holiday, in a once in a lifetime location, with amazing scenery, wildlife and importantly fantastic characters. Attention to detail was impeccible, we felt spoilt for our entire stay. Thanks to Sacha and Tam for ensuring all ran smoothly and to Sean, Onesmo and Salum for their expert guiding.

Memories of this stay will be etched on our minds forever..." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"Very comfortable.Welcoming staff. Amazing location with excellent guiding. Huge flexibility - everything arranged around your wishes. Very thoughtful. Delicious food especially the Swahili lunch. Rooms excellent - beautifiully decorated.

Walking safari a great and new experience for us.

Breafast a bit weak by comparison - saved by amazing bacn & egg rolls.

Tam & Sacha run a very good and considerate team.

Would definitly go back and recommend." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

""excellent" is too weak a word for it"

5 nights Arrived 17 Feb 2009
"Beho Beho is an unforgetable experience! First of all, its location is breath-taking - the views are fabulous. The camp itself is a very stylish, yet an absolutely unpretentious place - it is luxurious in many respects, but paradoxically it does feel like home.

The drives and walks were fantastic - we cannot imagine a better first safari trip... The guides we had were very professional and knowledgeable, they always went out of their way to show and tell us as much as possible.

The whole place is run impeccably. The staff was very friendly, competent and always smiling. Every part of the service - from the laundry to the cleaning - was just perfect.

As for the food, it was always delicious and served in a lovely way. The wake-up tea is a great idea - it's an excellent way to wake up before the morning drive. The idea of serving lunch and dinner at several locations makes every meal special. And the surprise breakfast at Tagalala Lake is unforgettable.

It's a very special place and we are definitely going to go back there one day. The only worry is we are always going to compare every other place to Beho Beho from now on and the result will always be the same: Beho Beho rules! ;)" See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania
