The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"Summary"

I visited Tanzania between 31 Dec 2011 and 13 Jan 2012
"Overall, the whole trip, accommodation and people that we met exceeded our expectations.

I was glad that Liz had persuaded me to opt for Pole Pole rather than Kinasi resort. The personal experience that you have with the resorts is invaluable.

A fantastic choice for our honeymoon and wetted our appetite for future adventures in Africa....Thanks very much!!

"On a whole, the trip was an excellent experience and we enjoyed Tanzania . Hopefully we will return one day!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

It is really difficult to come up with anything substantial.
Information on the camps is comprehensive but maybe a little more about the types of animals which can be encountered and the environment and terrain as well as camp facilities, but this is a small point." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"A memorable trip"

I visited Tanzania between 17 Nov 2011 and 2 Dec 2011
"Everything worked like clockwork.

We had good flights and the accommodation at Sand Rivers was excellent, particularly when you think how far from civilization we were. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and produced good food. On our safari rides we saw a wide variety of animals, including a leopard, crocodiles, two prides of lions, a herd of buffalo, hippos out of the water, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, elephants, warthogs and many more.

We also saw a wide variety of birds, including Goliath herons, Marabu storks, spoon bills, fish eagles, pelicans and many small birds. We had two trips on the Ruffiji river where we came into close contact with hippos and crocs and had sundowners on the shore at sun set which was magical.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and was willing to spend as much time as we asked at various viewing points. We can strongly recommend leaving the Camp very early and having breakfast on safari.

"Summary comments"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 1 Nov 2011 and 13 Nov 2011
"It was our first safari and was an amazing experience. We particulary enjoyed the wildlife but also the accommodation and the food as well as the people we met. It was also great to be able to combine a safari with being by the sea and visiting Zanzibar.

Many thanks for a great trip!

"Despite some of the slightly negative criticisms on the earlier pages we had an excellent holiday. All connections etc worked well, we saw loads of game and birds - which was why we went.

I believe we picked the right game parks - plenty of game but fewer people, which, again, was what we wanted.

Thanks to Expert Africa for helping to make it happen!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Can't think of anything. We were pleased with the service and information provided.

I've mentioned it before, and I wouldn't want to give the impression that these detracted signicantly from our enjoyment but tetses in Mdonya and the non-availability of walking safaris in Mdonya were slight "hiccups".

Thanks to Liz for all your help." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"Ruaha & Selous"

I visited Tanzania between 22 Oct 2011 and 30 Oct 2011
"We really enjoyed the trip - Our fourth visit to Africa and we wondered beforehand whether it could match previous trips - It certainly did.

The contrast between the two parks was stunning and the camps, although quite different in style, had the common thread that the guiding was brilliant.

"This was one of our best African holidays.

Careful planning (thanks to Liz) meant we got exactly the kind of camps and experiences we prefer. Most of the time we had a guide to ourselves - always a bonus!

It is hard to think that we can better this - but I am sure we will try. I am reliving our wonderful holiday completing this feedback

"We had a fantastic trip and were very happy with the advice given by Expert Africa and the way the trip was put together.
All the lodges and hotels were excellent.

All ground transfers and domestic flights worked really well (however, in DAR the car did not have functioning seat belts)
The information material provided was very useful.

We will definitely recommend Expert Africa to our friends and hope to travel with you again one day.

"An absolutely wonderful, memorable holdiay"

I visited Tanzania between 11 Oct 2011 and 23 Oct 2011
"We had a truly wonderful time. We loved everywhere we stayed and were grateful that we had been guided to just the kind of places we liked.

Quite a few of the people we met were 'old safari hands' and without exception, they said that we could not have chosen better places to visit for our first trip to Tanzania, to get a slice of the 'real' safari experience.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Probably one of the most efficient and easy holiday companies we have dealt with. We had left things to the very last minute and despite this, the team was unfazed and helpful.

Would definitely use Expert Africa again. Also competitively priced." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari
