The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"Stunning safari"

I visited Tanzania between 10 Sep 2011 and 23 Sep 2011
"As near perfect as one could expect, and actually more so than we did expect.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Can't think of any. All transfers went like clockwork. Everybody seemed to be in the right place at the right time and the hotels were wonderful.

As a matter of interest, before we left, I did enquire about hairdriers. Ellie was away, and my enquiry was dealt with by somebody else. My information was that Beho Beho don't have them in the rooms, but actually they do.

I think it would have been helpful to know that absolutely everything is included at both hotels, and there isn't a bill for bar, laundry or other extras on checking out. We could have got away with taking far less if we had appreciated that. We may have been told, but perhaps it should be in capital letters!" "IF YOU CAN THEN DO

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

yes. Dont oversell the potential problems and need for megga insurance....
Africa is welcoming, everybody we met was. Reading the site you may scare people away.
The BA Flight back from Dar was dire. They served snacks when we were really hungry. Up since 03.15a and
not fed till we got back to Heathrow." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 3 on a Tanzania safari

"A memorable stay"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 6 Sep 2011 and 16 Sep 2011
"The main purpose of the trip was the safari in the Selous and this was brilliant, the rest of the trip was for relaxation and exploring and we certainly got that. It was a good holiday." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 4 on a Tanzania safari

"A great holiday, well organised, we were met at every point, our driver/guide in Rwanda, Sam was very good. The holiday met our requirements and are looking forward to next year.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Please really emphasis the damp and coldness of the mountains when going to Rwanda to see the gorillas, it is not so much as to what to wear when climbing but how to keep warm in the rooms as everything feels damp, also take a torch as the rooms can get dark as the generators are only on for certain times, can make reading difficult." "Holiday of a Life-time!"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 3 Sep 2011 and 14 Sep 2011
"Fantastic. It far exceeded our expectations (was our first time in Africa).

We found all the dawn starts and long days a bit tiring, but well worth it. The amount of wildlife and how close we saw it was amazing.
I was impressed with the amount of help and knowledgable suggestions we had from Eleanor in putting together the trip.

"AMHarris trip to Tanzania"

I visited Tanzania between 3 Sep 2011 and 14 Sep 2011
"Overall half was very satisfactory and I am grateful to Liz for recommending Kwihala, when I had originally been looking at Mwagusi. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely camp and will be returning there myself next year! Sand Rivers was my choice because friends had stayed there previously but I would have liked a bit more of the "flavour" of the camp in my discussions with Liz as in hindsight I would have preferred to go elsewhere, plus 5 nights there was too long.

I would also have appreciated a very clear "you must get a visa" as opposed to a recommendation to get one - other African airports issue visas on arrival with no trouble and I had thought Dar es Salaam would be the same - how wrong I was. Suggest you beef up your guidance on this point even more!!" Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"First Safari Experience"

I visited Tanzania between 28 Aug 2011 and 9 Sep 2011
"We had a wonderful time staying at Mdonya and Lake Manze and the trip completely exceeded our expectations.

Within 5 minutes of landing at the airstrip we couldn't believe the amount of wildlife we saw so quickly. At both camps the staff were excellent and the accommodation was very comfortable.

We will definitly be recommending these camps to friends and family.

"A lovely honeymoon"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 24 Aug 2011 and 5 Sep 2011
"Our trip was excellent, wouldn't change anything, and we had three very different experiences: safari in the Selous, beach paradise at Pongwe and urban madness (and excellent food!) in Stonetown.

Our arrival in Zanzibar was slightly alarming as we were hustled by bag carriers at the airport but that was as bad as it got. Our impression of Jozani forest was that it was a bit of a tourist trap but I don't regret booking it. I wouldn't rave about Eco+Culture as much as some other reviewers but their drivers were reasonably punctual and one was quite informative.

This was certainly the 'trip of a lifetime' and we have some great photos. I booked this as a surprise for my wife and she was very happy she let me do so!

"A full on safari holiday"

I visited Tanzania between 23 Aug 2011 and 9 Sep 2011
"The whole trip worked very well. The organisation was superb. We had no worries or hiccups.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday with abundant game, birds, great fishing and bush walks in the Selous. We were really very pleased with everything.
