The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"Overall feedback"

I visited Tanzania between 19 Sep 2009 and 22 Sep 2009
"The perfect trip. Exactly what we were both looking for and we couldn't have been happier with the experience.

Claire was fantastic to deal with and we really appreciated her help. Your website was also very useful, particularly the honest assessment of the different parks - pointing out the pros and cons of each.

"Although well travelled, old and cynical we had many "heart stopping moments" during animal encounters. I will never be able to persuade my wife into a simple tent again - she will insist on mahogany furnishings." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"Ruaha and Selous perfect combination"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 5 Sep 2009 and 20 Sep 2009
"We had a fantastic trip.

If we were organising again I think we would do 3-4 days in Zanzibar first to wind down and get into holiday mode and then go to the Ruaha and Selous to get maximum benefit from the safari. We loved both parks and they provide an excellent combination with contrasting scenery, fantastic game viewing and game animals and different activities. The camps were quite exceptional and we would love to visit them and perhaps go all the way to Katavi.

The organisation and those all involved in it here and locally went entirely smoothly.

Suggestions for improvement:

I know this is probably not that helpful but this is the third trip you have organised for us and on each occasion your service has been exceptional, we would not dream of going to Africa with anyone else - many thanks." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"Once in a lifetime - possibly not"

I visited Tanzania between 30 Aug 2009 and 13 Sep 2009
"As ever everything was very well organised and any problems ironed out before they become a problem. Some trips just work and this was one of those trips.

It is all in the planning and the fantastic staff at EA - thanks again Claire and well done - I enjoyed the fruits of your hard work.

"Overall Review of Expert Africa Trip to Tanza"

I visited Tanzania between 26 Aug 2009 and 3 Sep 2009
"We are not normally prone to superlatives but can safely say that every aspect of our trip from the moment we first contacted Expert Africa exceeded all our expectaions, and by a considerable margin. This truly was a trip of a lifetime for us and something that we will never forget.

We could not possibly have contemplated this without the expert advice, guidance and assistance from Expert Africa.

Suggestions for improvements:

Perhaps it is actually a good thing but If anything, your brochure probably undersold the camps and lodges that we visited. They were far better than we had expected them to be." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari

"Tanzania Honeymoon Feedback"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 24 Aug 2009 and 8 Sep 2009
"The places we stayed were all we hoped they would be and more.

The Z-Hotel and its location may not be everyone preference, especially for those seeking a more isolated, santatised type "Maldives" experience. For my Wife and I it was a perfect change to the "Maldives" type experience as we travelled to the Maldives last September.

The Safari was simply amazing on all levels !!

We would not have changed anything ... although at a push knowing what I know now I may have opted for an alternate hotel in Dar es Salaam for the last night." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zanzibar holiday
