Eight reedbuck hotel
The size of the room was good for a stop over, the receptionist was very helpful and arranged for us to have some cereal to eat early in the morning as we had an early start.
The only comment really was that for such a new hotel the shower was quite dirty, but the rest of the room and sitting area was very pleasant.
Friendly staff. Lunchtime snack was a little disappointing. Had supper out.
Accommodation perfectly adequate except never managed to switch off light outside bedroom.
Eight Reedbuck Hotel
We only stayed here as we had to be near the airport for an early flight back to London. The room was comfortable and perfectly acceptable for a brief overnight stay. We had an evening meal in the dining room as the hotel didn't appear to be located in an area where there were any restaurants. We thought the food was overpriced and not very good. With hindsight we should have enquired whether there were any other places to eat nearby. We were provided with items for a very basic breakfast the night before, as we had to leave for the airport before they started serving breakfast.Read more about the whole trip
Eight Reedbuck Hotel review
Eight Reedbuck was in a good location for the early morning transfer to the airport. The rooms are large and very comfortable with well appointed bathrooms.
The only criticism really is that breakfast is quite poor. It is delivered to your room the night before and only consists of bland cereal, yogurt and a piece of fruit.
Eight Reedbuck Hotel review
Hard to make a comment as we were only there a few hours overnight.
They did not seem to be expecting us at the time we arrived. The rooms were adequate.
Very pleasant stopover.
On both the incoming and outgoing stays the experience was good, we had the same suite on both occasions; large sitting room, bedroom with large very comfortable bed, dressing room with fridge and drinks making facilities, large bathroom and a small outside sitting area with Jacuzzi bath. And, I nearly forgot, a decent wifi Internet connection. The food was surprisingly good: full English breakfast, some excellent fresh and tasty sandwiches and a very good steak/chicken dinner. The only negative was the service, about the slowest we have experienced anywhere, so don't bother if you are short of time.
Overall a very acceptable place to spend time, we would happily return.
Rooms very comfortable and reception very good. Food very good in restaurant though breakfast service was slow and not as helpful as one would have ideally liked.
Hot shower failed to work and main room lights failed.
Comfortable Lusaka base
I had a very short stay at Eight Reedbuck Hotel, arriving late in the evening and departing less than 12 hours later. Conveniently, it is only 25 minutes away from the airport in the "presidential neighbourhood" (according to my taxi driver). My room was large and spacious, with a huge, comfortable bed and sofas and a good television with satellite channels (useful for finding out what's going on in the world after a week in the bush).
The bathroom was also large and had a whirlpool bath (which I did not use), although the shower was a bit disappointing - small, with a curtain and an uncertain shower head. While body wash was provided, there was no shampoo or conditioner, which would have been helpful as I didn't have my own; I also couldn't find a hair dryer, although no doubt I could have asked for one.
The common areas of the hotel are lovely, and although I didn't get a good view of the garden because it was dark, it seemed to have a nice pool as well as an outside seating area with a fireplace. Service was efficient and charming, and I appreciated that they left a continental breakfast in my room the night before my early departure. The room also has a large fridge and coffee and tea making facilities.
A delghtful Hotel
A lovely place to finish our safari.
We were sad that we could only stay for one night and did not see it in daylight. The welcome and staff were superb.
If we can ever do another safari we would certainly endeavour to stay at this hotel for longer.
A good base in Lusaka
For a variety of reasons we wanted to spend a day in Lusaka on this trip so (perhaps unusually for Expert Africa clients) spent two nights there. The Eight Reedbucks, a boutique hotel, proved to be an excellent base.
Our room was spacious and comfortable and the manager, Stella, and her team went out of their way to look after us and ensure that our stay was well spent achieving our objectives. We dined at the hotel both evenings and although the menu is limited (understandably given the size of the hotel) found the standard to be just fine.
In short, firmly recommended for anyone needing to stay in Lusaka for one or a few nights.
