Shoebill Island Camp is situated on the edge of the Bangweulu Wetlands.
There are six simple tents...
... and three reed and thatch chalets.
Inside the tents are simple with a bed covered in a mosquito net...
... shelves to store clothing...
... and a table with a candle, matches and drinking water.
Through a flap at the back of the tent is the bathroom.
Each tent has a bucket shower and flush toilet divided by a reed wall...
... and a basin on a stand with a cold water tap. Hot water is brought to you every morning.
The enclosed main area...
... serves as the dining area...
... as well as the lounge.
Take a game drive to see herds of buffalo or the endemic black lechwe...
... or a boat into the wetlands where you can see local fisherman out on the water.
However most people come to this area to see the prehistoric looking shoebill.
