"Crocodile Bushcamp review"

1 night Arrived 6 Aug 2009
"Absolutely loved this camp. Again food fantastic and the staff lovely and welcoming. Our cook proudly showed us around his kitchen. It is difficult to believe such lovely food comes out of such primitive facilities. Again, bread to die for!

I particularly loved the hut we stayed in, lovely and comfortable. Peace and quiet except for the lions, hyenas, hippos, cicadas, barking puku.......!" See all these reviews: 13n in Zambia; 3n in Botswana

"Excellent walk to Crocodile, Cameron was a super guide who made us feel safe in the bush.

Crocodile camp was welcoming. Food was exceptional, considering the facilities. The camp was well supplied with a good team of porters.

Rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

"Crocodile is an amazing 'remote' experience."

2 nights Arrived 2 Aug 2009
"You will be staggered by the logistics entailed in setting up Crocodile each season. It is a real priviledge to be able to stay here and there is a great backroom team of guys ready to make your stay special. Of the two walking camps perhaps this is shaded by Chikoko simply on the basis of game density in the immediate area, but anything can happen here.

Walking up or down the riverine pathways is a delight, but some decent footwear helps crossing the floodlplains once they start to dry out because there is not a square inch that has not been pot-holed by game.

I give top marks for facilities because apart from the necessary there are none - which is how a bushcamp should be. All remote camps have a range of natural history books and magazines to entertain those lazy mid-day moments - but be warned, they work you hard here - before you know it it is time for afternoon tea and off you go again." "2nd bush camp"

2 nights Arrived 25 Sep 2008
"We preferred this site to Chikoko although I can see some folk may like the "upstairs" security of Chikoko for their first camp. The walks were varied and lovely. The coking in open fires and bread from earth ovens was fantastically good. It is essential to take lots of Prolite for temperatures were 36-40 most days peak.

At these 2 bushcamps we saw, sometimes from a distance, occasionally really close ( buffalo and elephant detours), loads of animals esp. 00's of buffalo, elephants in groups and small families, all the other main ones except lion, lepoard giraffe and eland - we did look in all the likely places and saw recent tracks and kills.

The way the scenery changes quickly in these 2 bushcapms is amazing - mopani scrub, lagoons, high grasses, wooded, open plain - it is all there on a single walk. The birds are everywhere. The trees extraordinany in the way 1 will stand out shiny green amongst 00's of similar species apparently dead - but not just yet coming alive again. Such variety so that each walk is a real experience.

We liked the combination of peace and quiet on the walks with occasionall burst of frenzied activity as we spooked an animal or they did it themsleves." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

"Rory McDougall an excellent host, guide and lovely chap.

Watched Rory and the staff rescue a young buffalo stuck in a dambo and condemned. Their rescue took sustained effort, courage and was admirable.

Guide Sizsay (speeling?) great together with George Stuart and cook Patterson. Lovely guys one and all._" See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
