African Finfoot Fly-in Safari

After a unique start in Nairobi National Park, classic, luxurious camps combine for a high-end and exclusive safari in fantastic wildlife destinations.

African Finfoot Fly-in Safari: Summary

African Finfoot Safari in a nutshell

Beginning in Nairobi, what better way to introduce yourself to a safari than by spending the first night in Nairobi National Park – the only protected safari destination within a city? Lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and giraffe are all regularly spotted in the park and The Emakoko, found in the quiet southern region, is a lovely, owner-run base from which to explore the park and Nairobi’s other wildlife attractions.

Moving on to the exclusive Lewa Conservancy in Laikipia, this region offers a great range of wildlife species and different safari activities. Sirikoi is one of the most luxurious and exclusive camps in the region, with just four tents and two private houses. Delicious meals, great guiding, an intimate setting and high-end extras such as spa treatments and helicopter flights make Sirikoi a superb choice.

Mara Plains is one of the top camps in the Maasai Mara, providing a highly luxurious base to enjoy the fantastic wildlife, in particular the big cats in the Olare-Motorogi Conservancy. Its proximity to the main reserve means the famed wildebeest migration is also accessible throughout July–September. The camp is stylish and traditional with wonderful views across the plains, and each room is equipped with Swarovski binoculars and a Canon DSLR plus lenses.

The Emakoko

Day 1

The Emakoko is a unique, owner-managed lodge that opened in 2012. It straddles the southern boundary of Nairobi National Park, marked by the gorge of the Mbagathi River in an area where three rivers converge. The lodge has the national park's much underrated game-viewing areas on its doorstep and easy access to both Nairobi's airports.

Sirikoi

Days 2-5

Sirikoi is a luxury safari camp and lodge, located by a game-rich waterhole in a private, 7000 acre (28-square-kilometre) area of the 250-square-kilometre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, in south-eastern Laikipia. With only a handful of tents it aims to offer a very high-quality, personal experience.

Mara Plains Camp

Days 5-8

Nestled in the trees on the edge of the Ntiakatek stream in the 120km² (30,000 acre) private Olare-Motorogi Conservancy, Mara Plains is a small, luxury tented camp which prides itself on offering personal, high-level service. Along with access to Olare-Motorogi, the camp is also a member of Mara North Conservancy and within easy reach of the Maasai Mara National Reserve (one full-day visit to the reserve per stay in camp is included in your rates), so you have more than 2,000 square kilometres to explore.
