Trip rating: Excellent
"A wonderful experience which exceeded our expectations. Everything went smoothly. I felt completely confident with the advice and planning provided by Expert Africa

Only wish we wouldn't have to save for years to do it again.........

Tafika

Tafika

"Tafika review"

4 nights Arrived 4 Jul 2013
"First time Africa, first time safari and by luck or good judgment or a combination of both, we chose Tafika.

I can only echo the superlatives already penned about this camp by previous reviewers. From the word go Tafika provided a seamless experience. We were won over by the warmth and friendliness of the whole team. In all respects quality and professionalism shone through in a happy, relaxed way.

All of our guides impressed us with their enthusiasm, knowledge and communication. Nothing was too much trouble. The meals were delicious and wholesome (the kitchen garden is well worth a visit), and the chalets large and comfortable. We took the opportunity to visit the village of Mkasanga which really enhanced our understanding of the area and how the camp fits into local life.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Tafika. The trouble is whether we will ever match the experience again."

Chikoko Tree Camp

Chikoko Tree Camp

"Chikoko Tree Camp review"

1 night Arrived 8 Jul 2013
"A beautiful little camp with the same excellent standards as others in the "Remote Africa" family.

The memory of Chikoko Camp Staff bearing a decorated chocolate cake cooked in a hole in the ground and singing Happy Birthday as my husband blew out the candles will be treasured forever. Remote Africa Safaris know how to go the extra mile!"

Big Lagoon Camp

Big Lagoon Camp

"Crocodile Bushcamp review"

1 night Arrived 9 Jul 2013
"After an interesting morning of walking led by the immensely knowledgable Isaac Zulu, ably supported by Park Ranger Alex and stalwart tea bearer Brighton, we arrived at Crocodile Camp. Here we found the same impeccable standards we encountered at Tafika.

Delightful, friendly staff, superb meals and excellent beds. How do they do it?!

Isaac was a mine of information, and with his tongue in cheek humour and wealth of (possibly tall?) tales we learned so much in our time in the bush.

It's worth noting that the terrain between the camps is criss-crossed with deep fissures in places. We wore walking shoes but something with a bit of ankle support might be preferable"

The River Club

The River Club

"The River Club review"

3 nights Arrived 10 Jul 2013
"After a seamless transfer from South Luangwa we were met by boat and travelled the final leg of the journey to the River Club along the Zambezi which was a wonderful way to arrive and appreciate the lovely setting.

The rooms are well appointed with glorious views over the river to Zimbabwe. In July it was pretty chilly and we welcomed the hot water bottles placed in our beds at night. Mornings were decidedly cold and required a dash from a hot shower into warm clothes. In the main Zambezi House there was a fire which made it a very comfortable place for dinner and breakfast. Meals were of a high quality and delicious.

The River Club's DNA (Do Nothing Activity) was a welcome change after 5:30am starts on safari. The activities they did organise were excellent. At Victoria Falls our guide was tiptop and enabled us to get the most out of our visit. The sunset cruise was a delight .

We had expressed an interest in visiting Simonga village and in particular the clinic. This was arranged for us and we were able to spend time with the amazing nurse who handles almost every facet of health care for the local population despite a lack of just about everything!

All the River Club staff were attentive and informative and we felt thoroughly looked after during our stay."
