A Hilton as one would expect.
Why go to the Seychelles and stay in another Hilton one might ask.
Our room was a disaster waiting to happen. Rather dark and done nicely in wood however. Our bed area was raised up about 9 inches thus an invitation to falling over day or night as one could not see the step. They gave us daft bits of cake in the room each day but wanted to charge us 5 EURO to use the WIFI in the loby area. We understand that a high percentage of customers complain at the wifi charges. The washbasins in our room were impossible to use without spraying water everywhere. They looked fancy however.
The bar/snackbar we wanted to use was "unusable" in the evening due to the live entertainment being three times too loud. The management might have considered why the bar was used by so few people and why a number preferred to sit outside even when it was raining.
Oh for Bird Island, why did we not stay another few nights.
Great stay at Hilton Northolme Resort & Spa
Room was fantastic with good views over the sea.
Resort itself is small but was nice and relaxing for a few days, and has the option to take snorkels and kayaks out.
Good snorkelling by one of the beaches. Good choices at the buffet (though don't bother with the cookie making "activity" - as you just watch someone else make cookies!)
Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and Spa review
Again between good and excellent, the Hilton is a tried and tested 'brand' - everything was very professional, lovely food but we would prefer more local cuisine using island produce such as bread fruit as it was in season (is bread fruit considered food of the poor maybe?)
There were some difficulties with the room i.e. we had a long wait on arrival until it was available which was frustrating; there were a number of minor irritations after that with the room as two blinds didn't work or the sound system, otherwise it was lovely, thank you.
