Topi safari in a nutshell
This fly-in safari explores southern Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park and Ruaha National Park in considerable luxury. Guests will stay respectively at sister camps, Siwandu and Jongomero, both of which boast a traditional, somewhat colonial style and the expected matching elegance. Polished wooden floors lead to plush communal areas, where there are swimming pools to relax in and private dining is the norm.
Beginning at Siwandu, guests will find themselves nestled amidst the mixed woodland of Lake Nzerakera’s shores. This camp is located at the centre of the lush reserve where wildlife sightings are particularly good and activities are varied. Guests can return from boat safaris, bush walks, fishing trips and drives to sit and observe wildlife from the raised decking with spectacular views over the lake.
Jongomero matches Siwandu in comfortable luxury yet holds a remoter position within Ruaha. Far removed from other camps, guests will experience a real sense of wilderness, staying in one of eight tented rooms spread along Jongomero River. To further enhance the immersive bush experience, guests may add fly-camping to the variety of activities available and sleep out under Ruaha’s expansive star-studded skies.
