An amazing adventure ...
Rwanda between 20 Jan 2018 and 28 Jan 2018
"We thoroughly enjoyed the trip it met all of our specifications in terms of culture, history and wildlife.
The visit to Kigali was very moving and a trip to Rwanda couldn't be done without visiting the Genocide Museum to see what the people of Rwanda have been through.
Our visit up to the Volcanoes National Park was everything and more ... the hike up to the golden monkeys was well worth it and was a great prelude to the hike to see the Gorilla's the next day. The Gorilla experience was amazing and the time flew by so quickly it was over in a flash.
To end our wonderful trip we spent a few days on Lake Kivu which again incorporated a trip into the town passing the church where more than 36000 Tutsi's were massacred, as well as the bird life in the gardens of the lodge and on the water's edge.
We found all the staff in the hotels, the guides and all the Rwandan people were really friendly and welcoming throughout our stay."

"Lovely lodge with a great view"

"The lodge was spacious and clean, with a welcoming fire which was lit afternoon and evening to take the chill off the room.
The gardens were tidy with feeders, plants and flowers to attract the birds.
The free boot clean and foot and leg massage were very welcoming after a muddy hike!
Good choice of food on offer at meal times."

Cormoran Lodge
"Great location on the lake, but disappointing"

"Cormoran Lodge has a superb location on Lake Kivu and all lodges have great views. The gardens are full of birdlife and we spent any spare moments wandering around the gardens trying to capture the beautifully coloured birds as well as the Kingfisher's down on the water's edge.
The room itself was shabby and feels in need of a facelift. The mosquito nets were grubby. The linen was faded, again looking like it needed replacing. The overall feel of the room could have been better.
General feedback for the staff in the bar and dining areas is that we felt they were a bit too 'attentive' making us feel a little under pressure to decide quickly on choice of drinks, food etc."

There also no hot water on the morning of departure which was a bit inconvenient as I wanted to wash my hair and had to boil kettles and do it over the sink."
