Mumbo Island is the smaller and more scenic of the two islands used by Kayak Africa. There are five very comfortable tents on wooden platforms, each with their own private deck and hammock, offering lovely views over the clear waters of the lake. Currently these share bathroom facilities, although this may change during 2006.
At Mumbo, you can choose to opt for pure relaxation or all-action adventure. The diving is excellent here, but equally enjoyable is the chance to paddle yourself around the island, follow one of the short marked hiking trails, or go birdwatching or fishing.
