A perfect balance of relaxation and exploration, the Ibo Beach Holiday is ideal for those who enjoy a more active approach to a beach retreat, and it’s also a great option for a family adventure. Staying first at Ibo Island Lodge, followed by an Ibo Island Dhow Safari; you can expect private beaches, local culture, beach camping, kayaking and plenty of seafood.
Once you have arrived in Pemba under your own arrangements, connect straight onto a light aircraft for a 20-30 minute flight to Ibo Island, where you will be met and driven to Ibo Island Lodge. You have plenty of options of how to spend your three nights here, with cultural and historical tours on offer, daily boat trips to the lodge’s private sand spit - where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch cooked for you, or simply swim and snorkel in the beautifully clear waters. For sundowners, the roof deck is a must, and this is also where dinner is served.
Usually you would be collected from Ibo Island Lodge by the dhow safari team after breakfast, although as this is a private safari the day can be flexible and timings can be adjusted to suit your preferences. Your next few days will consist of kayaking around the crystal clear waters of the Quirimbas Archipelago, fly-camping on beaches and being looked after by a full support crew of guides, sailing crew and of course a chef! With a large support dhow, the safari is very flexible and those who would like a rest from kayaking are welcome to ride with the crew for a more relaxing journey.
You’ll finish your last day of the dhow safari with a paddle back to Ibo Island, before being driven to the airstrip to connect with your light flight back to Pemba, where you will continue under your own arrangements.

We have always believed that acting responsibly is the only way to approach tourism and we're one of
the few companies to hold AITO's original coveted 5-star status for responsible tourism. It's a lead
that others are now following.
