Perfect for visiting the Fish river canyon.
Good room with lovely shaded outside seating area. Good food and helpful unobtrusive service. Scenic sunset walk behind the hotel.

Brilliant - especially the warming open fires inside some of the cars.
Friendly, helpful staff (lent us swimming pool towels so we could have a dip at the Ai-Ais thermal springs). Rooms basic but comfy, food excellent and nicely presented. Small shopping area in Reception selling reasonable quality souvenirs, books, postcards, stamps, etc.
Definitely a place we won't forget!

An excellent location for visiting Fish River Canyon.
The Roadhouse is certainly unusual with its old vehicles adorning the public area and grounds. Staff were helpful and friendly. The Canyon was spectacular. We also visited Ai Ais - some great scenery en route.
A quirky "Motel" which we enjoyed.
Rooms were fine, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was more like a museum which led to a surreal dining experience which we will certainly remember. Well located for trips to Fish River Canyon and the small swimming pool was most welcome

This was a great place to unwind. The staff were attentive without being overpowering, the food was great.
It was a wacky start to the holiday, amongst all the old cars.

Great fun to stay here - really quirky with trees growing through old vehicles. Ideal location for Fish River Canyon.
Friendly, fun staff. Food very good and nice to have a choice from the full menu as part of DBB package.
Rooms are nicely decorated in bright colours. Some more space and loungers round the pool would have been appreciated.

Very close to the canyon and very helpful staff. Enjoyed the quirky layout with cars in the reception area.
Limited choice for vegetarians on the menu but great standard and good choice for those who eat full range. My partner said the steaks were one of the best!

Canon Roadhouse Review
Again we found this a perfectly good place to stay. We went to Fish River Canyon, that was quite breathtaking and remarkably were the only people there once an intrepid group of five had descended into the canyon for a four / five day trek! The staff were again very friendly and we enjoyed a game drive come sundowner drive with once more a guide who was proud of the country and his knowledge. It helped that we were the only people to go on that drive.
Not much in the way of wildlife, as we expected, but we did see our first (of many) oryx and a few other animals. But what incredible scenery.
On our way back from Fish River we went to the Canon Lodge for a drink. That enjoys a truly fantastic location, probably more so than the Roadhouse but no doubt is more expensive.
We have always believed that acting responsibly is the only way to approach tourism and we're one of
the few companies to hold AITO's original coveted 5-star status for responsible tourism. It's a lead
that others are now following.
