Island Cottage: Our full report

Island Cottage is located next to the Shark Island entrance looking out over the ocean. Situated slightly out of Luderitz town itself, it is a good choice if you want somewhere small which offers full self catering facilities.

There are three apartments, all cozy and well equipped, each with an open plan kitchen/bedroom area. The bedroom has a double bed and a sofa but there is plenty of room for this to be changed to another bed, making a room that sleeps four. The rooms are brightly painted and well finished, each in a different style. They have large windows, making them light and airy with sea views. There are televisions in each room, as well as a small balcony outside with chairs for sitting and looking out to sea.

The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, kettle, microwave, sink, and some cutlery and crockery. Tea and coffee is provided. Next to the open plan area is an en-suite bathroom with a shower, where towels are provided.

Island Cottage is also the location of Sandrose Gift Boutique, a small curio shop. There is no communal lounge area but there are braai facilities, shared with the family who own the cottage and live here too. There is also a patio overlooking the lagoon, and a secure parking area.

Island Cottage offers clean and cosy self catering accommodation and so is a good spot for those wishing to explore Ludertiz and its attractions.
