Oyster Bay Review
This is a hotel with a difference, as it is very much intended for travellers in transit. In fact, some of our fellow guests were only there for a few hours. We arrived at lunch time and left early the next morning, but managed to enjoy some excellent dining and a very relaxing afternoon by the pool. The room was comfortable and we slept well.
The location is immediately across the road from the beach, giving some fine views of the ocean, but is also unfortunately the other side of Dar es Salam from the airport. The traffic is dire (although our driver assured us that we had seen nothing like its worst) so transfers can take some time.
Suprisingly good!
A very trendy hotel, that appears from the outside like a private bank or lawyers practice.
This part of Dar is perfectly safe, and ended our trip in style.

Our last two visits have been very memorable when hosted by Maretha. So our expectatations were high for our third visit but on arrival we were asked if we had been before!
The service wasnot as slick as it should have been, considering we were the only guests. We did not feel comfortable
Oyster Bay
Oyster Bay in Dar es Salaam is a small boutique hotel done in white with African woods and unusual art work. It is clean and
plush with many open areas onto the lovely gardens and Lap pool in the back.
The food was superb and served perfectly with delicious african wines. The staff and manager, Maretha, were fantastic. We could not wish for better care. All the rooms have a lovely view onto Oyster Bay. We took two breaks here during our Safari and it was very relaxing. It is the place to stay in Dar es Salaam.
We will definitely return again.
Luxurious
Maretha & her small team couldn't do enough, it's a place of beauty & tranquility in Dar'.
We had 2 nights at the end of our fantastic holiday & this was the perfect place on the Peninsula to relax & unwind including the sundowner at the waterfront following an opportunity to purchase any memories / presses prior to our return.
Oyster Bay review
The hotel is beautifully decorated and comfortable. We loved the view from our room and I enjoyed the lap pool.
The food was delicious and ample. We will certainly recommend this as a place to stay in Dar.
The transfer to and from the airport was well organised.
Stylish Oyster Bay
Unfortunately only had a quick 1 night stopover here before flight home but was most impressed. Great attention to detail and extremely friendly atmosphere. Made the last night in Tanzania very special!

We started our trip in Oyster Bay and made the mistake not to come back at the end to relax. Dimitre pamperd us!
We met very interesting people at the dinnertable.
A very special place.
A wonderful end to our holiday
Oyster Bay is a great place to relax before boarding the plane back home and again this was our second visit. The rooms are beautifully decorated and food wonderful - we were the only guests and were able to chose just what we wanted.
Demitra, Khadija and Basil made us so welcome. Beho Beho and Oyster Bay have now spoilt us forever - they will be our yardstick for friendly staff, delicious food, great locations and fabulous rooms!
