Azura Mozambique review
A great resort, i think i enjoyed it more than Vamizi. The food was wonderfull, i understand that they have a new chef.
Friendly staff, very private rooms would certainly go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Honeymoon at Azura
Azura is set in the most beautiful location, and the helicopter ride to get there is amazing. The only downside of the location is that should you be unlucky enough to encounter bad weather (specifically wind) then the available activities are very limited. Unfortunately, this happened to us, so we could only get out on the boats (dive or other) on one day.
We understood from guides we met in Botswana that Mozambique is "locally" renown for windy conditions in August, so it might be better to avoid this time if at all possible, although we did get the only 4 days of "winter" that they had.
There isn't a great deal else to do on the island if you can't get out on the boats, other than sit back, relax and enjoy the brilliant food and wine. So, not so bad!
On our action packed last day, we did cram in a lot of the activities and Pansy Island is not to be missed. The opportunity to share a private lunch on a deserted sandbar is something that is almost certainly a once in a lifetime experience.
Special treats and personal touches galore to supplement the wonderful food and the great service. You will love it. Just hope it's not too windy!
Azura Mozambique review
Azura lived up to expectations. It was the icing on the cake!
The villas are spacious, airy and private with lovely views of the sea. Each has a lovely garden full of birds. The furnishings are stylish and attractive. There is also a library with a flatscreen TV and 2 PC's for guest use.
Service is very good. Attentive and unobtrusive. The staff are mostly locals keen to learn and they will talk and ask questions (especially about music and football!) Each guest is assigned a "host" which who caters for your every need. The atmosphere is pleasant and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble. Emphasis is on relax and enjoy.
Activities are well managed and cater for individual tastes. Almost always private. Oliver was particularly enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we enjoyed our picnic on Pansy Island followed by the challenging climb up the "big dune"!
We also liked seeing island life and watching the locals coming and going along the beach and wading out to the little boats. The local school was great. Azura is a honeymooners paradise (I suspect we were the only couple who were not on honeymoon).
Overall a great stay and we would heartily recommend it!!
