"Paradise!"

3 nights Arrived 5 Jul 2011
"The scenery at Erongo is spectacular. We had amazing views from our room (no 10). The tent was warm and comfortable, and we loved the bathroom built into the rock at the rear. The guided walks were very enjoyable, and the guide was superb.

We would recommend this lodge to anyone who loves peace and quiet (except for birds, baboons and dassies!), beautiful scenery, walking, geology and interesting wildlife - but stay at least two nights. It is in a convenient location for slotting into self drive holidays, and it has so much to offer. You will not usually spot any "big game" at Erongo, but it is a wonderful place to find some of the smaller creatures such as rock agamas, baboons, klipspringer, dassies, porcupine and dik dik as well as a very wide variety of birds. It is peaceful and very picturesque. We were captivated by the variety of birds and animals visible from the restaurant.

The restaurant area was very pleasant and comfortable with a lovely fire, nice friendly atmosphere, great staff and wonderful food. The breakfasts are amazing and highly recommended - it is just as well that we had to move on after three days!" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"The last few hundred meters to the lodge were tricky and our Nissan X trail only just managed - to be fair, the lodge had a car park and would have collected us if we could not have managed the climb over a huge boulder.

Reception was friendly and food was good. The location is stunning.

There were guided walks available but after struggling with the climb to the sunset location, we concluded that these were more suited to younger folk." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 10 Jun 2011
"Superb; loved the scenery and the wildlife and this was one of the nicest places we stayed in Namibia. We went on one evening guided walk and a 4 hour morning walk, all included. Guides very knowledgeable and considerate in seeking out what we were interested in, and helping less one of us who had knee problems.

Also went on a N$440 evening drive which was rather steep, though we did see rock art, owlets and an aardwolf. Self-guided walks generally well-marked, but the markers did give out sometimes amongst the rocks and more are needed - take GPS or compass.

Good bird and mammal viewing from the restaurant, including an elephant shrew. Food excellent, but wine expensive. Cold at night, but duvets and hot water bottles meant that this was not a problem." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia

"It was very very cold here in June! Too cold to use the shower built into the rocks. The tents really need heat in winter BUT this was a lovely place to stay. Murray and Robert were very welcoming. The guide, Heidi, was the best of our trip and so was the chef. The choice at breakfast was amazing - try the savoury or sweet pancakes -delicicious!
We were really glad we stayed here even tho' it was so cold." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 23 May 2011
"The setting of this camp is lovely, as is the opportunity to walk directly from the site and see baboons, dassies, lovebirds etc, and the self-guided Eagle walk and the guided Sundowner walk & 6am walk were very enjoyable, and Gelasuis our guide was friendly and informative. The accommodation was the least comfortable of any on our trip - the tent flapped noisily all night in the chilly brisk wind, which also made the outside bathroom distinctly unwelcoming (unlike Hoodia there is no inside alternative). Maybe in summer the tents would be more appealing, but in early winter they spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Stunning setting with great staff"

2 nights Arrived 19 May 2011
"Tented room very comfortable with good facilities. Layout of the site was very good with stunning views.

Guided walks very informative, especially Johnny and Koulis. The visit to Paula's cave was stunning and very enjoyable, and the staff that also attended were very good company. Food and dining service was also excellent.

Nice to have emphasis on walking and you can do self guided walks, the one we did we were able to watch a pair of Dik Dik for quite some time." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"This was our favourite place on the trip. Everything was first class from start to finish and we were looked after very well indeed, including a special birthday treat!

The tented bungalows are lovely and the views terrific.

All the staff were friendly and attentive and the food and wine excellent.

Bird feeding time at breakfast is spectacular, and being able to watch Small-spotted Genet and Porcupine over dinner is a real thrill!" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"only 2 negatives about this stunning place,
1) The beds could benefit with mosquito nets.
2) They could do with a way for arriving guest`s to contact the lodge, if their is nobody at the parking area it is a bit of a trek to get to the reception.

But these are only slight niggles, we loved the place." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
