Vineyard Hotel and Spa review
Only stayed one night. We would have had to be there a week to come to grips with all the lighting combinations in the room.

No good staying here unless you have a car, but driving around is easy. Gardens very peaceful and spotting giant tortoises is good fun. We used the bar mostly for evening meals - very good value and a wide choice. The main restaurant was perhaps a little formal and expensive for every day use. I loved the bedtime stories left on the pillow! A very original touch. The hotel has an interesting history and you should spend time looking at the photos and reading the book provided in the rooms.
Only criticism is that, although internet connection was available for laptops in the rooms, holidaymakers don't usually carry these and their only option was the business centre, where charges were some 3 times that of internet cafes.

Excellent location for Kirstenbosch, access towards Hout Bay and Chapmans Drive, also to Cape Point via Muisenberg.
Excellent breakfasts.
Vineyard Hotel Capetown
An easy afternoon drive down to Cape Town from Langebaan brought us to the Vineyard hotel. We had a nice large quiet comfortable room at the far end of the building, The grounds were wonderful.
On the first morning, breakfast was very much a DIY affair as the staff seemd to be pre-occupied with a conference taking place. However, this improved markedly on he following mornings where we were able to have it on the mezzanine floor with the wonderful view of Table Mountain facing us.
After staying at small lodges, this hotel felt very impersonal. although the staff were friendly and helpful and the service was good.
We made some enjoyable excursions from here to the wine regions, whale watching at Hermanus, the drive to the Cape, penguins at Boulders Beach etc - as much as time allowed. The route over Chapman's Peak Drive wasn't open.
The only disappointment was that the day we decided to go to the top of Table Mountain the mists came in and we had to come down very quickly ( to a very sunny Cape Town).
We have always believed that acting responsibly is the only way to approach tourism and we're one of
the few companies to hold AITO's original coveted 5-star status for responsible tourism. It's a lead
that others are now following.
