"Macushla House review"

1 night Arrived 19 Jul 2009
"We arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so it is difficult to comment in detail - we went straight to bed on arrival and left after an early breakfast.

Having taken an age to get out of the airport - channelling every car leaving the airport through a single checkpoint to pay for car parking is a terrible idea - we really could have done with accommodation a little nearer." See all these reviews: 13n in Tanzania; 1n in Kenya

"Macushla House review"

2 nights Arrived 6 Jul 2009
"Very good small hotel. #i stayed there 3 times over the couse of a month so got to know the place well.

The staff and owners are very freindly and helpful. When we had a medical problem with one of our daughters the owner drove us into town to visit a pharmacy. They even made us early morning tea when we were leaving for the airport at 4am on one accasion!

The only drawback is that it is some distance from the airport so you need to leave a long time before your flight. Nearby elephant sanctuary is worth a visit if you have time." See all these reviews: 5n in Tanzania; 4n in Zanzibar; 3n in Kenya

"Macushla House review"

1 night Arrived 31 Jul 2008
"A veyr nice place for a stop over in Nairobi between safari locations.

Having an arrangement to pick you up is very convenient the only slight negative is it's distance from the International airport but this is more than made up for by the rooms and ambience at the House.

Veyr nice rooms and friendly and efficent staff and excellent cusine." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia; 4n in Rwanda; 1n in Kenya

"Short Stay at Macushla House"

1 night Arrived 5 Jul 2008
"Qualified rating, owing to the barest of time spent - predominantly sleeping between connecting flights via Nairobi. Never saw the place in the daylight, so difficult to provide overall assessment.

Place was clean and nicely decorated - bed was mercifully comfortable. Owners had waited up and were welcoming and attentive - even at delayed 1130 pm arrival owing to diabolical road transfer (appaling road conditions and traffic jam). On reflection, the place is a little too far removed from Nairobi Airport to provide a relaxing short stopover between flights.

Breakfast choice was varied and good standard, given the early hour. It was always going to be a night-stopover, but in the circumstances perhaps an airport-adjacent room would have sufficed. A shame we weren't able to enjoy more of Macushla." See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania; 4n in Rwanda; 1n in Kenya
