Damara Mopane Lodge review

We only had a stop over heading for Etosha.

It was a green oasis and they had a big pool where we had a swim before dinner.

Nice rooms and good food.

Damara Mopane disappointing

Good facilities at a reasonable price and well looked after and efficiently run.

However, compared to some of our other destinations, it felt like a rather unappealing place for a stopover. Nothing to detain us here. The view from the sundowner terrace is of a flat and featureless landscape and we felt a bit crowded out by so many other tourists.

Damara Mopane Lodge review

Accommodation a little dreary perhaps, in particular the bathrooms. I just felt a little more effort could've gone into the decoration of both the bedrooms and the bathrooms.

Among the nice things here were the food, it was excellent, the pool, largest we'd seen, and the deck for sundowner drinks was nice. We liked being able to dine as a couple also, as opposed to eating in a group.

On leaving we were given a little trinket with our names painted on it by the security man at the main gate. We thought it was so sweet & we wished we'd had more cash on us to give him a decent tip. It's actually very pretty & a nice idea. Don't know if he undertakes producing them personally or if it is done by the establishment.
