Onguma Bush Camp review

Our rondel was very cosy, but in need of some refurbishment - particularly the bathroom.

The bar and lounge area more than made up for this, as did the resurant and the food. The staff were very friendly. Also the pool and garden area were attractive, unfortuately we didn't see any game at the waterhole as the rains had just started.

A very pleasant easygoing camp

A very agreeable place to stay and convenient for Etosha Park. There is a raised seating area with comfortable seats where you can sit with a gin to look over the waterhole. The reception area also has a useful shop with postcards and stamps, which seemed to be in short supply up to this point. Julia, the charming receptionist also offered to post my cards for me, for which the lodge went up further in my estimation.

The food was good and the waiters amiable and obliging.

We felt very welcome here.

Chilling out at Onguma Bush Camp

We really liked Onguma and it felt special after staying at Okaukeujo. The food here was of an extremely high standard and we loved the raised bar area that provided nice views over the private reserve.

As with all the other lodges in Namibia, the staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. This is an excellent place to chill out, sit by the pool, sit round the fire of an evening or watch the sun go down from the bar.

We ended up going into the park because Onguma's only game drive on their land was not until 4pm. So it might have been better if we had stayed at Namutoni. Having said that, we liked Onguma so much that this is a minor quibble.

A pleasant stay at Onguma

Again we had a 2-bedroomed family room - seemed to be confirming our growing belief of Expert Africa influence! Etosha Park attendants allowed us to re-enter the Park later in the day without having to pay again. Excellent food and service at Onguma.

A pity we couldn't stay at Namutoni but that was out of everyone's control (except the President!). However, we enjoyed our stay at Onguma.
