A good base for Swakopmund.
Peter was a great host whose sense of humour did much to make our stay an enjoyable experience. The layout of the rooms around the garden with its emphasis in lavender plants was a delight.

A small, spotless guesthouse with a modern, unfussy style.
Room was light, airy and spacious. House boasts a pretty little garden. Owners were away and temporary host, Monica, could not have been more helpful. Staff also very attentive. Excellent breakfast.
Would recommend to those looking for a quiet location almost in the heart of town and well placed for restaurants, stores, the beachfront and general exploring.
Whilst here, we arranged a morning kayaking at Pelican Point for this traveller. She commented:
This was definately one of the highlights of the trip.
Jeanne is an outstanding guide and clearly knows and loves the area. The salt water pools in amazing colours (green and pink) were extraordinary, the bay beautiful and we saw flamingo, jackals and of course 100s of seals. The Kayaking was fabulous and the whole trip perfectly organised from the clothing/equipment provided, instruction provided and commentary to the welcome and warming hot coffee and picnic provided at the end.
Anyone visiting Walvis Bay must do this trip!

Probably highlight of our trip; loved it! Ernest was a very informative and friendly guide, who showed us so many environmental aspects of the coastal desert - can't praise him enough.

Very easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the sea. We arrived at lunchtime and had half a day to see Swakopmund, which is just about enough. Some good restaurants to chose from but booking is advisable.
The day trip with Turnstone Tours down to Sandwich Bay was superb. It was just us with the very knowledgable guide.
I could easily have done another night in Swakopmund and taken another day-trip inland with Turnstones, or maybe kayaking etc.
NB for Cornerstones - would have liked the milk, tea and coffee replenished in the room.
Excellent b and b
Excellent food with friendly staff in good position
Day trip to Sandwich Harbour booked with Expert Africa - excellent
Good guide and most enjoyable trip in the dunes and on the coast.

Good central location. Very helpful owners.
A good place for a break in between long drives.
From Swakopmund, Expert Africa organised a day-trip to Sandwich Harbour for these travellers. They commented:
This is an excellent trip, particularly for someone keen on birds, but also for anyone interested in extraordinary scenery and wildlife.
Ernst was a very informative and friendly driver/guide. As well as the birds we saw lots of jackal and learned a lot about the issues facing the area..
Driving over the dunes was quite an experience.
A very nice lunch was provided, although it didn't quite match the sumptuous feast which I'd imagined, having read previous reviews.
Highly recommended.
Lovely hosts
Easy location to find.
Peaceful gardens. nice rooms, super comfortable beds and best breakfasts of anywhere we stayed and very friendly hosts

Peter and Margot could not have been more helpful. The apartment on the Strand was outstanding.
We did quadbiking, sandboarding, kayaking with Cape Fur seals and shark fishing from the beach. It was fantastic fun and our children loved it. Swakopmund was amazing.
The restaurants were first class, especially the Tug. They have no concept of portion control and two standard main courses would have fed all 5 of us. It was useful to just settle for three nights before the next leg. The distances are vast and you need to pace yourselves. Thank you for your advice on this.

This was very different to what we had experienced as there was a TV, and the guesthouse was a short walk from the beach so after all the desert landscapes it was anice change.
The staff booked all our restaurants fo us and were extremely helpful.

We stayed in Room 1. Internet access was complimentary! Very good B&B. Recommend eating at the Tug, Grapevine or De Kelder.....but not the Lighthouse. The Turnstone Tour to Sandwich Harbour with Ernest was excellent...another highlight of our trip. Everything about the day was superb including the gourmet picnic lunch.
We were a bit disappointed with the Pleasure Flights Sossusvlei Trip as we would have liked to have spent more time in the air actually circling Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.
