Bushbuck safari

This Botswana safari to the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti Reserve stays in three great small safari game camps – 3 nights in Duma Tau, 2 nights at Chitabe Lediba and 3 nights at Xigera. The bird-watching and big game viewing are excellent, and you'll be staying at first-class camps which are small and intimate.

You'll notice that this trip visits similar areas to our Reedbuck itinerary - which uses rather more luxurious camps, and hence costs substantially more than this trip.

These are individual trips, and can be tailor-made and adapted to suit you.

This safari to Botswana can easily be combined with a visit to see the Victoria Falls. See our trips to Livingstone for examples of the add-on options, and their costs.

Day 1
Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled overnight flight will take you to Johannesburg.

Days 2-4 Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana
DumaTau In Jo'burg you'll connect to a scheduled Air Botswana flight to Maun. From there you'll be flown to a small airstrip beside the Linyanti River, where a short game-drive will take you through woodlands to camp. You'll be based here for 3 nights of top game-viewing and birding at –

Days 5-6 Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana
Chitabe Lediba A 40-minute flight takes you to Chitabe Lediba – your base 2 nights on the southern edge of the Okavango, and you usually reach camp in time for afternoon tea and your first safari activity. Chitabe Lediba is one of the Delta's “dry camps”, where the focus is on day and night game drives, and also walking (at the guides' discretion) -

Days 7-9 Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
Xigera After a short drive to the airstrip, and a flight of about an hour or so, you land at Xigera's airstrip. It is a short drive and boat trip to camp - through forests, thick vegetation and flood plains – although you'll probably take longer as you stop for game. Xigera has small, wooded islands and rich floodplains, resulting in great density and diversity of game. For a further 3 nights, your comfortable base is –

Day 10
You'll probably have time for a morning activity before a short (30 minutes) light aircraft flight from Vumbura to Maun. There you'll connect with your scheduled international flight to Jo'burg, and onto a scheduled overnight flight back to London Heathrow.

Day 11
Arriving back in London Heathrow, early in the morning, it's hardly as appealing as Botswana – but then you will have had a superb safari!
