Beautiful garden, lovely friendly people - cups of tea early in the morning we arrived while they got our room ready even though the previous guests had only just left!
It made an excellent base just to relax and unwind after a long flight.
Terra Africa review
Beautiful place to stay and we were sorry we were only there one night. Everything was exellent.

We stayed only one night arriving after our night flight (without much energy left...), and we went out for dinner so we can't comment on activities and dinner. But we did have a very good service, Rolf did his best to be as helpful as possible.
We followed his advice to go to Weinberg's restaurant and dinner was excellent.
Terra Africa Review
We only had one night here after our flight. We were lucky to get the upstairs room with balcony so we could make the most of the lovely view.
The room was comfortable and Rolf was very friendly & helpful.
We had dinner and, although there wasn't a wide range of choice, the food was good.
Terra Africa review
Situated quite close to the city center of Windhoek, but without too much noise pollution, we experienced this as a pleasant place to stay after arriving by plane from a 10-hour flight. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and functional.
The overall relaxed atmosphere of the accommodation got us in the right mood for our holiday inmediately.
Safari tour first night stopover
Nice place but . . . Receptionist (the manager/owner?) preoccupied with what he was attending to before our entry. Room (last on the right downstairs) was nicely presented but had nowhere suitable to put cases and its stone dressing table was in a dark corner rendering it useless for many of the things a dressing table is used for.
TV programme choice poor.
Public area downstairs loo had run out of paper by around 9 am to which the manager 's comment and reaction was only that the staff had not been round yet.
Expert Africa comments
The co-owner and manager of Terra Africa, Rolf, was keen to respond to this feedback, and wrote to us:
“Thanks for this feedback; critiques like this are always useful as we aim to constantly improve our service.
We always offer tea and coffee, in the lounge or garden, to guests who arrive very early (as was the case with these guests, who arrived at about 8:30). Thus our visitors can relax in comfort until their room is ready, which is usually well in advance of a ‘normal’ hotel check-in time of 2pm. We regret that they felt we were not attentive during this time.
Their room was a well-light north facing room; the stone dressing tables form part of the room lay-out and design – we do however understand that they aren’t to everybody’s taste.
Terra Africa is proud to offer 23 satellite TV channels and 15 satellite radio channels. This is a much larger choice than the normal 4-5 channels generally available in Namibia – although obviously I’m sorry that these travellers still felt that the choice was poor. There are clear instructions on how to operate the satellite decoder and TV-guides in each room; and our team will always be happy to help guests with this if they ask.
These travellers commented to me about the toilet paper in the guest bathroom after I had collected them from their guest room, en-route to their departure at 9AM. At that point the staff hadn’t yet done their morning check on the public-area toilets, so I apologised and double-checked that the staff visited this specific toilet in question.
I greatly regret that their stay was not up to their expectations, and have noted this feedback and investigated matters. We do need travellers to realise that Terra Africa is a guesthouse; not a hotel – and this gives us a few disadvantages as well as many advantages.
Kind regards, Rolf”
Terra Africa review
Warm welcome & very helpful staff. Suitable accommodation for an overnight stop; we stayed at the beginning and end of our trip.
The breakfasts were good, however the evening meals (we had two) didn't quite come up the standard we were accustomed to in Namibia.

Rolf, Terra Africa's owner, responded to this and commented:
"We thank guests for feedback immensely.
Kindly take note however that we are not a restaurant and offer a small selection of home-cooked style dinner options, as we are a guesthouse. This option is designed for a tired traveller who does not necessarily wish to visit one of the many brilliant restaurants the City of Windhoek have on offer."
Terra Africa review
We arrived in Windhoek from Kulala by plane. We were met and transfered to Terra Africa. The guest house was great and so comfortable for what we needed for one night. It was right opposite the president's new residence and close to the town centre.
We had a great room upstairs overlooking the new residence. the staff were very helpful and arranged with us to get our hire car delivered to the guest house earlier than originally planned.
Very comfortable and a lovely pool and garden terrace to enjoy the afternoon!
