Serengeti National Park is vast, and the 'Serengeti migration area' - which is used by thousands of wildebeest and zebra on their annual migration - is even larger, often referred to as the 'Greater Serengeti area'. In addition to Serengeti National Park, the Greater Serengeti also includes surrounding wildlife areas: Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve across the border to the north, Loliondo Game Controlled Area to the east, part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the south-east and south, as well as Maswa Game Reserve to the south-west.
