The Elegant Bed & Breakfast review
We wanted to see a little of Windhoek and the Elegant B & B is is good place to spend the night and be relatively close to the downtown area and Joe's Beerhouse (which after seeing on a TV program, we had to see in person).
As we did not want to drive ourselves, we used taxis to go downtown and to Joe's. At N$50 for each taxi ride, Joe's trip is a little pricey, but since walking is not a choice, it was our only means to get there. I'm sure we could have found enough to do to spend another day in Windhoek, but we saw what we wanted to, so we were OK with just one day.
Joe's, however, was a bit of a disappointment, but it was our choice to go there so we can blame no one else.......
The Elegant was easy to find and convenient to what we wanted to do and see.

As before on the first night.
Even though the restaurant we selected to eat at was only 300m from the Elegant, the staff advised we drive there. The key fob on the room key operated the gate.

Very good, friendly, clean, good breakfast, secure parking off-street. I liked the fruit in the rooms on arrival.
There is a small poll but I did not use it.

Lovely quiet & clean B&B not far from Joe's. Good service and relaxed feel. Nothing special but would happily stay here again.

Easy to find and very comforable beds - just what you need after the long journey.
The lady on reception was very helpful and booked us a table for dinner nearby.
A capital start
This was fine for a first night stopover, straightforward to find from the airport and the rooms clean and comfortable. The staff helpfully booked us into Joe's Beer House which was only a short walk away (although when we returned by taxi the night porter took some rousing to let us back in). In the morning they looked after our bags after we'd checked out so we could drive into the centre of Windhoek for a look round. The little museum at the Alte Feste gave some interesting insights into struggle for Namibian independence.

We found The Elegant without problems, in a residential suburb of Windhoek, with directions provided.
Enclosed and covered parking spared the car from the heat. We were welcomed with a cool drink by friendly staff.
The rooms are located around a garden courtyard and were very pleasant.
The staff were helpfull with advice on security, supermarkets, shopping and a recommended taxi service.
Overall for one night we couldn't fault "The Elegant" but with one exception..... In the morning the staff were watching t.v. in the lounge, which didn't give the best impression and we felt that this was why were not been offered a cooked breakfast. For the long drive ahead trhis would have been welcome.
