Time in Congo

Congo is always two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2); it doesn't operate daylight saving time. As you might expect from an equatorial country with minimal differences between the seasons, there's no time difference between winter and summer months in Congo.

Currency in Congo

Central African Franc (CFA) is Congo's currency, and at the time of writing (January 2017) "1 = CFA 761 ; also see for the latest rate.

Congo's International Dialling Code

The International Dialing Code for Congo is +242. Calling from Congo, you need to dial 00 and the relevant country code (e.g. +44 for the UK, or +1 for the USA).

Health in Congo

Visit your health professional at least 4 to 6 weeks before your trip to check whether you need any vaccinations or other preventive measures. Language in Congo

French is the official language of Congo and widely spoken, regional languages are Kituba and Lingala.

Weather and climate in Congo

The climate across the Congo is basically the same wherever you go, hot and humid, with only slight differences between the northern and southern regions of the country. From October to May the south of the Congo gets a bit less rain than the north, and it tends to have a shorter dry period in the middle of the year.
