Jasmine Beach Holiday: Day-by-day

More detailed information of what each day entails, and the various places you’ll stay on the Jasmine Beach Holiday. Everything we do is completely tailor-made so while this is an idea which works well, we’ll always design an itinerary just for you.

Day 1

Starts: Dar es Salaam International Airport

After collecting your luggage, you’ll be met by a local representative for the five-minute shuttle transfer to the Domestic Terminal.

Day 1

Dar es Salaam to Pemba by air & road

From Dar es Salaam International Airport, you'll board a 1–1½-hour light-aircraft flight for Pemba, usually touching down in Zanzibar and sometimes changing planes. A driver will meet you for the fascinating journey to the northern tip of this largely rural island, arriving at Manta Resort after around 1½ hours.

"Manta was fantastic in terms of personal attention, food, & the underwater room."

Manta Resort is certainly one of the more remote lodges featured by Expert Africa. On a far corner of the undeveloped Pemba Island, it is not a resort in the typical sense of the word, but it is laidback and unpretentious, and the views are spectacular. It commands a fairly high price tag but if you want somewhere a little different and off the beaten track, we think it's well worth the money. And for something very special consider night in the unique underwater room. See our full report on Manta Resort
