Trip to Tanzania Aug 12

Zanzibar and 1 other country between 2 Aug 2012 and 17 Aug 2012

Trip rating: Excellent
"We absolutely loved this holiday. It was well organised by Expert Africa and all transfers were on time.
We kept telling each other how different this was and it certainly felt different from holidays we have been on before.

Loved the safari and Zanzibar was beautiful.

Feedback response:

None at all. We were delighted with the trip and the service we received from Expert Africa.

Thank you very much."

Impala Camp

Impala Camp

"Selous Impala Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 3 Aug 2012
"We were very impressed with Selous Impala Camp.

We felt that the service was very personal. We had our own guide and driver for game drives and we could choose what we wanted to do. We went on 3 game drives and two river safaris. We saw all the animals we hoped to see and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

We loved the bush breakfasts by the lake and dinner slightly away from the camp next to our own fire on one evening. It was great to sit round the fire before dinner to share stories. Barbara and Andreas, the managers, were very informative and we enjoyed looking at the stars. Food was good.

The accommodation was better than I had expected and very comfortable even though we were kept awake by bush babies on our tent every night!!"

Matemwe Beach Village, Zanzibar (this camp has since closed)

"Matemwe Beach Village"

5 nights Arrived 6 Aug 2012
"We enjoyed our stay at Matemwe Beach Village.

We spent two nights in a Shamba Suite which was quirky but comfortable and were then upgraded to the Asali Suite. This was great with private access to the beach, a hammock and a huge covered outside space. The outdoor shower was good but going outside for the toilet at night was a bit strange and I worried about mosquito bites.

The food was excellent, the best we had on this holiday. The beach was lovely - perfect white sand and turquoise sea. We hired bikes one day and cycled for miles along the beach, seeing very few people, My husband did four dives which he said were good. I was a bit disappointed that because of the tide we were unable to swim in the sea. I did book a snorkel trip but this was unfortunately cancelled because of the windy weather."

Fumba Beach Lodge

Fumba Beach Lodge

"Fumba Beach Lodge"

4 nights Arrived 11 Aug 2012
"Fumba Beach Lodge was great. Our suite was very comfortable with direct access to the beach. The bed was huge.

My husband did 4 dives and was very impressed with the dive school. The staff were great and instruction was good. The equipment was of a good standard. He was even able to dive when he was the only one diving that day.

We went on a snorkelling trip and picnic which was fantastic. Just the two of us and a guide and boat driver. We snorkelled for an hour and were then taken to a beautiful small island where lunch was prepared for us. We then returned under sail which was magical - so peaceful. We were able to visit the local village. The people were all very friendly and we felt quite safe."

Kholle House

Kholle House

"Kholle House review"

2 nights Arrived 15 Aug 2012
"The Kholle House was very different and has been refurbished well. The owner., Francis showed us round and explained the history of the house. Our room was fine.

The main problem was the close vicinity to a mosque and the call to prayer in the night which was very loud. We also had difficulty trying to pay our bill as the man on reception was unable to understand us.

The hotel organised a very good guide for us to do a walking tour of Stone Town. This was very interesting and enabled us to see more and be more informed than if we had been walking on our own."
