"The Hide central areas have a great atmosphere- Sitting around the campfire was an important part of our enjoyment. The staff were fantastic - always warm and eager to help us enjoy our stay. The food was first class- especially the picnic-style breakfasts.

The tented accomodation had recently been upgraded. It was very spacious, if a tad spartan in decor and I found it very cold at night, despite heavy blankets and hot water bottle!

Our guide Peter was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We enjoyed his company.

There was quite a good range of wildlife, though perhaps not quite as extensive as I’d experienced in Tanzania previously. A great place to see elephants!"

"The camp is set in a beautiful location, overlooking a large lagoon, with a rich variety of birds and visits by several types of animals, including baboons, ostrich, crocodiles, and impala.
The tents are very well designed and attractive, without being overly luxurious. Despite very cold weather, the tents were comfortable. They were widely spaced. Very comfortable beds! The central areas were minimalist in design, but worked well.

Staff were excellent - Savannah the Manager was always nearby, making sure we were being well looked after.

The small scale of the camp was perfect. We routinely had only one or two companions on game drives. We particularly enjoyed the company of the Trainee Guide Eric, who was keen to share his knowledge and was very personable.

The blend of animals in this area was different, with fewer elephants and the addition of jackals, more hippos and crocs. Overall, probably fewer animal sightings. We had a great opportunity to observe a pride of lions consuming a buffalo and appreciated the relaxed pace that allowed extended observation. The guides did their best to locate the pride of lions with cubs and a leopard, but the very long grass made it difficult to spot them."
