Lagoon Camp

Lagoon Camp

"Lagoon Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 23 Dec 2007
"The position of the camp on the lagoon, near the river, is very beautiful and the boat trip we made was most interesting, sadly cut short because that was the one day when we had really heavy rain. But the frogs liked it! We also liked the layout of the tents

The guides were very skilled and enthusiastic. We saw wild dogs, a leopard and we also saw the most elephants here: large groups with several babies ! This camp was also good for hippos.

We especially liked the friendly atmosphere at this camp: the waitresses came and introduced themselves and guests, managers, guides all sat down together for meals . The food was of an excellent standard. We loved the campfires where we sat at breakfast time to eat delicious porridge."

Sandibe Safari Lodge

Sandibe Safari Lodge

"Sandibe Safari Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 26 Dec 2007
"Sandibe was perhaps the most luxurious accommodation, being a lodge with stone huts rather than tents. So we found it made an interesting combination with the tents. We loved dining outdoors by the fire when the weather permitted it. Everyone was very friendly but we would have preferred to eat all together rather than having separate tables for each group. Moreover, although the managers were also available in the dining room, they tended not to sit and eat with the guests and the guides did so only on some occasions. The food here was also good although we found the brunch was rather heavy (more like a full lunch) for that time of day.

The guides were, again, very skilled and knowledgeable and were very keen for us to see some wonderful animals. We saw lions here as well as leopards"

Kwara Camp

Kwara Camp

"Kwara Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 29 Dec 2007
"This camp was also in a lovely situation near a pool and also with views across the fields. The tents had sliding doors rather than zips which might possibly be a plus to anyone anxious to keep out centipedes, but the lavatory was part of the bathroom rather than being separate which we had liked at the other camp.

Another very friendly camp where everyone: guests, guides, managers ate together. And the food was of an excellent standard. Any small request was dealt with promptly and most willingly, e.g. another towel, hot water needing adjustment, etc.

Again, the guides were superb, driving us some distance to see a family of cheetahs hunting, wild dogs, lions, as well as taking us on a bush walk to hear about plants and their uses. Nothing was too much trouble and their conversations about some of the Botswanan customs added a further dimension to our experience."
