"The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of arrivals and departure.

Reception was efficient, the room was satisfactory but we were disappointed by the quality of the evening meal. The breakfast buffet was fine."

"A very fine hotel that justifies it's five-star rating. The location is superb and, apart from surprisingly small swimming pools, every aspect is excellent.

We enjoyed first-class dining in the Seafood Restaurant, an exceptional concierge service that helped us plan our days (excursions including whale-watching) and which had no embarrassment recommending restaurants outside the hotel when we fancied a change. The staff at every level were quite delightful.

We thoroughly recommend Enrico's Ristorante at Main Beach Kueurboomstrand for a relaxed meal with locals."

"Rothman Manor has more the atmosphere of a high-end B&B. That's not a complaint: merely a comparison between it and the other accommodation we enjoyed. The location's fine and the spread of rooms over the attractive site pleasant; our luxury room nice enough. Breakfast was adequate without being as varied and generous as elsewhere.

We can't praise Field and Fork at 26 Swellengrebel Street enough for outstanding food and congenial service."

Plettenberg has more than its fair share of celebrity chefs and an excellent alternative for a more relaxed dinner was the excellent French Connection."
