Jongomero Camp
"Jongomero Camp review"
When we arrived, all the staff came out to sing a song to welcome us to the camp and from then on, everything was top quality. The management team were excellent and explained everything when we arrived. There is loads of attention to detail, particularly with the housekeeping and the accommodation. Our tent was fantastic with wooden floor and bathroom, and a beautiful view onto the riverbed. The bed is absolutely huge and so comfortable!
We loved our guide Vincent and he was extremely knowledgable. We also did a walking safari with Giovanni, who was very experienced and friendly. We saw less animals compared with our second camp but the whole experience felt extremely special. We did see loads of different birds and it's a great place for bird-lovers. We would definitely come back to Jongomero.
The quality of the drinking water was excellent and is double filtered so tasted really fresh and nice. The food was excellent for bush breakfast and lunch. The only slight negative was some of the dinners weren't that great and the chicken was very tough."

The camp is spacious and split into two so we had quite an intimate experience with fewer guests.
The food was delicious throughout although the drinking water is quite sandy.
On the first game drive we had, there were 4 other guests with us so we were very happy that the manager managed to find another guide for us so we had a private experience for the remainder of our stay. We would highly recommend organising a private car in advance as the experience was completely different and so much better.
The game drives are full of different animals but we also saw loads of other vehicles. A boat safari is also available on the lake and we did it twice, very relaxing and different to being in the car. We really enjoyed it!"

The resort is really spacious but is has a boutique feel so it never felt very busy or crowded. Everyday we found great sunbeds on the beach and there is an amazing drinks/food service to your bed. The DJ on the beach in the evenings was also amazing. Overall a really fantastic place to relax.
Both restaurants were excellent and we also enjoyed the different bars."
The only negative we had was that on ordering room service, they didn't have most of the items available so had swapped most of the dishes with something else."
