My Apr 2025 trip
Botswana and 1 other country between 30 Apr 2025 and 15 May 2025
Everything ran so smoothly and was organized seamlessly. All of our drivers and guides were courteous, on-time, knowledgeable and friendly.
We only had a bit of a disagreement with the driver from the Kasane airport to the Zimbabwe border. He kept telling us that the cost of the visa was going to be much more than I knew it was going to be. Probably an honest mistake but it was worked out when we got to immigration and paid the appropriate amount.
Otherwise, everything was fabulous!
We absolutely enjoyed everything! Thank you very much!"

Johannesburg Apartheid Museum and Soweto Tour
"Johannesburg Apartheid Museum and Soweto Tour review"
1 May 2025 • All-day excursion
The Soweto Tour was also interesting. We enjoyed the lunch and found the atmosphere on the Main Street to be somewhat festive, which was surprising, I think, giving the history of the area. We enjoyed seeing the Mandela House and learning about the Soweto Uprising. I was a child when that was occurring and so did not know all of the history. Very sad and disturbing, but important to learn and remember.

Kwara Camp
"Kwara Camp review"
When I think back to our whole trip, it’s the time spent at Kwara in Botswana that was the most special. Being completely cut off from the rest of the world and just taking in the magic of the wildlife.
Our guide George and tracker Chris were exceptional and really nice people on top of that. We enjoyed talking with them about their backgrounds and life in Botswana. We loved being summoned to dinner by the singing staff! The dinner under the stars by candlelight, breakfasts around the campfire at sunrise, the surprise lunch in the bush, and the morning coffee breaks and sundowner cocktails made the whole experience even more special. (Be sure to try the Amarula in your hot chocolate!)
Now if they could only get the baboons to be quiet during siesta time!!"

Victoria Falls Hotel
"Victoria Falls Hotel review"
We enjoyed tea on the terrace which was a “must do” experience. The food was wonderful! Also had dinner in the main dining room which was also excellent!
A note to future travelers, the path from the hotel lawn to the falls is no longer open. I think it closed during Covid and then became overgrown and hasn’t been maintained. You can still see the midst from the falls, and the bridge.
We also highly recommend the helicopter ride as the best way to see the falls is from the air!"
The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. The staff was super helpful too. We only wished we had a longer stay! (And better weather to enjoy the pool!)
While the location was very pretty and quiet, I’ve marked it as “Good” because there wasn’t really anything we could walk to from there (ie. Restaurants, etc.) but we were there only a short time so it didn’t really matter."
