Tanzania Honeymoon Feedback

Tanzania and 1 other country between 24 Aug 2009 and 8 Sep 2009

Trip rating: Excellent
"The places we stayed were all we hoped they would be and more.

The Z-Hotel and its location may not be everyone preference, especially for those seeking a more isolated, santatised type "Maldives" experience. For my Wife and I it was a perfect change to the "Maldives" type experience as we travelled to the Maldives last September.

The Safari was simply amazing on all levels !!

We would not have changed anything ... although at a push knowing what I know now I may have opted for an alternate hotel in Dar es Salaam for the last night."

The Z Hotel

The Z Hotel

"Z Hotel review"

8 nights Arrived 25 Aug 2009
"Myself and my wife thought the Z Hotel was excellent in terms of the quality of the rooms, and the general level of service. A special mention must go to the current Hotel Manager (Haffeese ... not sure of spelling) whose attention to detail and over all "can-do" attitude made things all the better, expecially considering the couple of issues we had with our room. All of the staff are very helpful and polite. The management regularly walk about around the Hotel, pool side, the restaurant, etc. asking the guests how they are and if they can be of service.

The massage we had in the Spa was excellent.
The guy Andrew who organises excursions was very cheerful and happy.
The people in the Dive shop were also very helpful.

The extra's you get as a Honeymoon couple, i.e. sparkling wine and fruit platter, sunset cruise, lobster dinner, etc. again help to make for a wonderful experience.

The location was fantastic, the beach was great with a few other beach side bars and restaurants available if a change was desired."

"Selous Safari Camp review"

5 nights Arrived 2 Sep 2009
"Everything was excellent !!

The staff were so very helpful, the tents were amazing and always well maintained by your own attendent who also ensures all of your washing and ironing is taken care of ... for free. The location on the lake was fantastic with a fantastic view from our veranda of the lake with animals regularly crossing your field of view. The staff, i.e. Cloe, Mark, Mohammed, could not have been any more helpful and attentive.

The quality of food was gourmet with 3 course lunches and dinners every night. The quality of guiding was amazing with MoShaka getting a special mention as he was simply aweseom at finding the wildlife, especially the Hyenas, Liions and Wild dogs. The variety of excursion was great with the option to go on early morning guided walks or boat trips across the lakes a welcome alternative to the standard driven game drive.

There is even a nice little touch for Honeymoon couples on their last night, which I will not divulge.

We were located in what is sometimes known as the "Private" camp, and from what we could see was a touch nicer then the main camp which has all of the generaters, etc.

All in all it was an absolutely amazing experience for both of us."

Southern Sun Dar

Southern Sun Dar

"Southern Sun (formerly the Holiday Inn) review"

1 night Arrived 7 Sep 2009
"The staff were very helpful. The location is not especially good as there did not appear to be anything locally to walk to in the day time, with the location better suited for business people. The room was very average, I would imagine it was more then suitable for a business person.

With it being located so close to the airport I can well understand why it is a reaonsable option for a last night stay before returning home the next day. Mind you with so little to see or do locally the last day can drag some what, especially as we got there at midday. The lunch and dinner menu in the restaurant did not seem expecially varied with the Lunch we had being of average quality. The morning buffet was very good in terms of variety.

I am going to give it an "Average", although for Tanzania it may be worth of a "Good" but I do not have the knowledge of other hotels to make a fair comparison for the price."
