Birgo Guest House has two recently added deluxe rooms.
Deluxe roomLocated in the tree line at the back of the property, the two Deluxe rooms are a more recent addition to Birgo Guest House, and are our preferred choice here. They share a whitewashed, tin roof building, which may lack immediate charm, but the rooms themselves are immaculate, spacious and airy.
More modern in style that Birgo's simpler superior rooms , the bedroom is spacious and more 'contemporary' than 'island' in style. Large beach scene paintings of the island hang on the pale apricot walls, there's a sleigh-like luggage rack, free-standing swing mirror, and matching curtains and rugs. The king-size bed is nicely draped in mosquito netting and boasts refreshingly simple, natural coloured bedding.
Quirky additions remain though, and whilst the marble wrap-around bench to the bath with it's neatly engraved 'Birgo' logo, and sparkling blue crystals of the wall lights may not be to everyone's taste, the place is well-kept and offers a surprising amount of space for a La Digue bedroom.
There is a good size en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower cubicle (complete with its own full-length mirror!) and toilet. A separate dressing room leads off the bedroom too, complete with wardrobe, tea/coffee station and an umbrella for unexpected showers. There is no safe, though one is available in Birgo's reception.
The width of these Deluxe rooms at Birgo opens up as glass patio doors, allowing a cooling breeze into the room (AC is also fitted if you need to be cooler), as well as access to the tiled, garden-view terrace. It's a perfectly pleasant place to chill of an afternoon and a good evening retreat – watching the odd hicken strut around the gardens of Birgo.
