Amazing Safari

Tanzania between 14 Sep 2015 and 28 Sep 2015

Trip rating: Excellent
"We had a wonderful and unforgettable trip. We loved every part of it and we would love to come back.

We were so happy to to see such beauty: the landscapes, the wildlife, the flora.

We highly recommend Nomad Tanzania, a great safari company with outstanding safari camps with a bush feeling, amazing guides and very nice staff.

Elizabeth Wollen, from Expert Africa, did an excellent job in advising us for this trip. She managed to match and exceed our expectations, thank you."

Southern Sun Dar

Southern Sun Dar

"Arrival overnight stop"

1 night Arrived 15 Sep 2015
"We stayed at Southern Sun for our first night in Tanzania. We arrived at 10PM and left the next morning at 6.30AM so we did not had time to really look around.

We had a light dinner on the terrace. The food was fine but nothing special.

Good and spacious hotel with comfortable rooms."

Kigelia Camp

Kigelia Camp

"Great game in Ruaha"

2 nights Arrived 16 Sep 2015
"Ruaha was the first part of our safari. We stayed two nights at Kigelia Camp.

We had great game drives. We were able most of the animals in just 1,5 days: many lions, leopard, elephants, giraffes, impalas, kudus. The game drives were varied and our guide John was very good in spotting the animals.

We also enjoyed a walking safari which offered us a different view of the savana.

Kigelia Camp is very comfortable. The tents are well furnished and with a good view of the savana. The camp staff was welcoming and attentive. The meals were good and it was very enjoyable to eat with all the guests, a moment to share the experiences of the day. The evening drinks at the campfire were very nice."

Chada Camp

Chada Camp

"Fantastic safari at Chada Camp"

4 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2015
"We stayed four nights at Chada Camp and loved it.

Katavi is a great park providing a large range of game and beautiful sceneries. We saw lots of animals, birds, herds of elephants, impalas, zebras, lions. It was wonderful! We would definitely stay there again.

The camp was very comfortable and the food excellent.

Julien, the manager of the camp, was so kind, warm, passionate. He was a fantastic host!

We also were very lucky with our guide, Sami. He was very nice, so knowledgeable about the wildlife, curious and passionate. We enjoyed immensely our flycamping with him. We had the opportunity to learn and discuss about Maasai traditions and culture and the challenges for Maasai children.

Great guides and a real bush atmosphere with elephants roaming through the camp .."

Greystoke Mahale

Greystoke Mahale

"Great chimptrekking"

3 nights Arrived 22 Sep 2015
"We stayed three nights at Greystoke Mahale.

The camp is divine, the setting is fantastic. You feel as if you were on the seaside. It is remote and beautiful.

Chimptrekking was exciting, we had the opportunity to see so many chimpanzees and to walk alongside. Our guide Buttati was fantastic, so funny, passionate and kind. We loved to listen to him explaining us the behaviours of the chimpanzes and sharing so many anecdotes. We had the chance to see the chimps grooming, resting, walking,... The first day we had to walk long hours before to meet them as they had the idea to go far in the bush but the second day we met them only 30 min far from the camp.

We highly enjoyed too our trip to Katumbi, a nearby village, for which we had raised funds and supplies. We went to visit the school and the clinic which we wanted to support through the Nomad Trust and Packforapurpose. It was a great opportunity to meet the community and to discover their way of life.

We would definitely come back."

Sand Rivers Camp

Sand Rivers Camp

"Luxurious safari at Sand Rivers"

4 nights Arrived 25 Sep 2015
"We stayed 4 nights at Sand Rivers for our last lodge in Tanzania.

We had very good gamedrives even if we saw less animals than in Katavi. We saw lions, leopard, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, kudus, wildebeests.

The setting is great with a splendid view on the river. It was very good to be able to do boating trip as well as walking safari or a trip to the hotsprings.

We stayed in one of the hillside suites (no 1) which was very spacious and comfortable and had a great view down the river. We had a private pool which was really convenient for the hot hours of the day. The service and the food were very good. The main communal areas are lovely and comfortable."
