"We chose to visit Tau Pan during the end of the autumn rains to experience the Kalahari in full foliage before the dispersal of migratory birds and antelope. Our guide (Roggers) and tracker (Vota) responded well to our more general interest in natural history with a comprehensive overview of the surrounding environment and its various inhabitants. We could not have been more pleased with what we saw and experienced.

As we later experienced at other Kwando facilities, Tau Pan Camp was luxurious and comfortable with many helpful and friendly staff members.

"The abundance and variety of wildlife we observed on the short trip from the airstrip to camp foreshadowed future game drives. We saw more numbers and variety of wildlife at this location than anywhere else on our journey.

As we experienced at other Kwando facilities, Lagoon Camp was luxurious and comfortable with many helpful and friendly staff members.

"We chose a mobile safari based on prior experience in the Serengeti - the thrill of nighttime predator roars and calls in close proximity to our camp. Andrew Harkness provided us with a great experience in difficult viewing conditions (tall grass, low mopane, and local flood conditions).

We spent just three nights with Andrew, so we camped in one area only. Contrary to our expectations, we never actually entered the Moremi Game Reserve. Our guide indicated that entry into Moremi occurs only on six-day or longer trips. Had we known this during the planning stage, we might have chosen another camp instead. However, that was before we met Andrew.

The advantages of staying in the Khwai Conservancy, as we did, is that bush walking, off-roading, and night driving are allowed. Consequently, we were able to observe and follow a pack of wild dogs as they roused themselves from a siesta and began an evening hunt and to go on an informative mid-morning hike.

"Our guide (Tom) and tracker (Matt) responded well to our more general interest in natural history by providing many details about the surrounding environment. They honored our desire not to go racing off to see another pair of cats on a kill. Instead, as requested, one evening drive took us to find the elusive baobob. We were successful at finding a well-hidden, solitary giant with an interesting story to tell. But along the way we were surrounded with mixed herds of impala, kudu, eland, zebra, elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, etc. Remember to go slow and look carefully - the other land cruiser group caught only a glimpse of their target cat that same evening.

As we experienced at other Kwando facilities, Little Kwara was luxurious and comfortable with many helpful and friendly staff members. Little Kwara is more intimate due to its small size and habituated wildlife.
